FNIS Generator Error - HKXCMD.exe stopped working

I've been using FNIS with MO flawlessly for almost as long as I've been modding skyrim. Then out of nowhere I've been getting a warning when generating the animations that "hkxcmd.exe has stopped working." This usually happens right around when FNIS displays the "reading creature files" notification.

 

I tried a full reinstall of the latest version of FNIS, the creature pack, and re-adding FNIS as an executable in MO, but I still kept getting this message. I even followed gamerpoet's guide a proper MO install.

 

Thankfully I still have a set of generated animation files that still works with my current save, but I'm going to have some trouble if I want to add new animations or other mods. Any possible ways I could look into this?

Maybe Microsoft .Net Framework corrupted .... or visual c++ runtime corrupted ... update all !

Another option, make a new profile in mod organizer copying the current, with separate saves, run FNIS ... if the problem persists, install a new version of sexlab framework (for exemple "sexlab 2") so does not corrupt the other profile .. and in this test profile, uncheck all related sexlab mods and FISS, and switch to sexlab 2, run loot, run FNIS ... and see if it worked ... if so, activate the mods, run loot, run FNIS, and see if it worked ..... If yes, you have a problem with your sexlab ...

I ran FNIS with admin privileges initially as per gamerpoet's instructions, but then I just run it through MO regularly.

 

 

I haven't been able to update in a while, mostly because windows update gets stuck at 0% (even with just one update checked and after waiting 30 mins). If anyone knows a surefire way to fix this that would be much appreciated.

Huh it looks like just the 1st step worked. No Idea why this would affect one profile and not the other.

So, make a copy of your save game from profile 1 to profile 2 and test if it works, if yes start only using profile 2 ... the problem may be in MO profile files ...

I realise this is and oldis post, but before you run to uninstall programs or mods here is what you should try. Find the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe and just in case hkxcmd.exe, they are in the same directory. Now right klick/properties/compatibility, then start at the bottom with modify for all users then select win7 compatibility at the top and also put a tick next to Run as admin. Do this for both files, and it should work as intended now. You should try this fix first if your games or other programs keep crashing, 2-3 years or older programs feel right at home on win7.
