ChancellorKremlin Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 OK, I've hit a rather annoying snag in my current game playing as walking death Crassus Wayne. The problem is, no matter how many children I kill, how many of them I sell into slavery, how many NCR outposts I burn to the ground, how many of their officers I murder in cold blood with a rubber truncheon (read dildo) or how many dogs I kick and how many cars I scratch, they just don't seem able to bring it in themselves to hate me. Which kinda defeats the whole purpose of playing a rather dislikeable cad. Sure, they keep SAYING they are going to hate me, sending hit squads of rangers saying I have X days to be nice, but when the fateful day comes, all they do is say "Get ready to die!" turn hostile for a second, then turn friendly again and leave. Despite having a vilified status with them, any and all outposts and NCR personnel are friendly, the only way to make them hostile is killing the local NCR, and even then, it's just them that turn hostile, not the entire faction. I've tried using getstage 00167f0e 5 (Don't tread on the bear, five being 'declared terrorist' and failing the quest) I've tried setenemy 0001b2a4 000246e7 0/1 (player faction, NCR faction, 0 enemy, 1 ally) and I've even tried resetquest 000167f0e, but the quest doesn't even show up. Am I missing something? All I want is for them to hate me! Am I not being evil enough? Should I sacrifice more puppies? Please advise.
Evilrunner Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Sounds like a mod issue. I've not heard any similar issues from Sexout, but then I don't know how many people try to piss of the NCR. A load order might be handy.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 I'm thinking it might be HumanTrafficking related. Rangers just won't stay hostile, I even put on Legion armour right next to one, the NCR soldier went mental and opened fire, the Ranger kept friendly and just ran away, which is what all the other Rangers sent to say 'your time is up' do too. I say I think it's HumanTrafficking.esp because I've enslaved a few NCR people, and that puts the individuals in your faction. Having said that, I got the same problem with some random mantises too, which were friendly. Evilrunner Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Perhaps try disabling that mod and do a test run. New game start and heavy console abuse shouldn't take that long to annoy the NCR and see if it works. That and a few sacrifices may help.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 I know its not sexout, I kinda forgot this is the Sexout technical support and not just Technical support at large. Oh well, I guess one can never sacrifice enough puppies.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 God damn, nothing worked, bar starting a new game. I'd noticed this before, with the NCR Lieutenant Hayes stationed outside of Helios 1, I'd use 'Intimidating Presence' on her, she would go hostile, then revert back to friendly. I just thought it was a glitch. I did use a console command to acquire Intimidating Presence, I just don't think you need 70% speech to be intimdating, especially not if you're a bad ass mofo like Crassus Wayne. Guess I'm going to have to do this just wearing legion armour then, which sucks because their armour is so shit. Anyone know any other ways to turn a faction hostile and make them stay hostile?
sen4mi Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 If I read this right: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Category:Factions http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Category:Crime you should be seeing hostility. You might try leaving some survivors of your hostility to see if that helps. If that does not help then you must be seeing the consequence of some mod which is "repairing your relationships" on your behalf. To see if this is the case, I imagine you would need to do the usual thing of uninstalling a bunch of stuff and seeing if that changed how things work for you (if it does, you then start narrowing in on the particular mod(s) which cause problems).
Evilrunner Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 If worst comes to the worst, you could always attach the legion armour script to the armour of your choice (might want to make a separate version of the armour first).
sen4mi Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 If worst comes to the worst' date=' you could always attach the legion armour script to the armour of your choice (might want to make a separate version of the armour first). [/quote'] Or you could just decide that they are all to scared of you to want to fight you...
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 Crassus Wayne is so intimidating' date=' speech checks pass him. [/quote'] lol If I read this right: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Category:Factions http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Category:Crime you should be seeing hostility. [/quote'] Okay, gave leaving 'survivors' a try, didn't work. In some instances, attacked NCR ppl would become friends almost instantaneously, or in some cases, it could take a few hours to a day. I've tried disabling and uninstalling the only mod I know would be causing this problem, that is, HumanTrafficking.esp/esm, and it didn't make any difference whatsoever. I'm starting to think my save may be corrupt. If worst comes to the worst' date=' you could always attach the legion armour script to the armour of your choice (might want to make a separate version of the armour first). [/quote'] I suppose, the only problem with that is that then anyone hostile to the Legion will also be hostile to me, and I will have to keep using only one set of armour. Or you could just decide that they are all to scared of you to want to fight you... Actually' date=' that is kinda playing a part, which is why I'm thinking ot may have something to do with the fact I console added the Terrifying Presence perk. A lot of the NCR people do indeed flee rather than fight. Doesn't that perk have a few scenarios, where if you use them, the recipients just flee, and others, they cower in fear, and others they turn hostile? I've "narrowed it down" basically to one of the following: A'] Corrupt save game (most likely) B] Some other mod, other than HumanTrafficking/Slave Jail (the only way to put this to the test would be to unistall EVERYTHING, but I am reluctant to do so because it would take a fuckload of time, and might not even guarantee me results) C] Terrifying Presence has fucked up and screwed my game (I say screwed my game, because I tried removing the perk - again through console - and that didn't help one iota) Any further help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
ChancellorKremlin Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 Yeah, I remembered the same thing happened a while ago where I got a permanent spell that gave me like -3 intelligence or something, and would not go away. I'm starting to see the merits of playing mod light games for proper run throughs. EDIT: No idea what is going on, I don't understand how forcefully making the NCR hostile to the player through console commands don't work either. Tried the following (000a46e7 being NCR faction, 001b2a4 being player faction) setenemy 000a46e7 001b2a4 000a46e7 001b2a4 1 000a46e7 001b2a4 1 1 000a46e7 001b2a4 0 000a46e7 001b2a4 0 0 000a46e7 001b2a4 0 1 000a46e7 001b2a4 1 0 On the plus side, player.AddTofaction 000ee68a (Legion) seemed to work, which is brilliant. From now on, whenever I want to be aggressive to NCR, I'm just going to use that (beats wearing armour) and whenever I want to infiltrate/talk to them/do whatever, just change back to normal faction - I can roleplay by saying, putting on a disguise, changing clothes, etc. No more shall Crassus Wayne's misadventures be hampered by phantom bugs you hear me, no more!
KainsChylde Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Last ditch suggestion, Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. If you have Lonesome Road, play it through to the end and nuke the NCR. Supposed to set you to instant Vilified with the faction you nuke. If that doesn't work, I'd agree that your save is bugged. If you are forced to start over, I believe there is a mod that adds Terrifying Presence as a trait instead of a perk. Let me do some digging on the Nexus and if I find it I'll update this post. Edit: Well, no dice on the trait thing, but I did find something making it a challenge perk instead of a selectable one: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38852 Dunno if that'll accomplish what you're aiming for, but it's something to check out.
zededd Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 odly, i'm suffering the opposite... Legion keep randomly turning up as friendly till I start using their big fluffy helmets as target practice and the NCR hate me on sight... Faction-wise, it's backwards! the NCR love the lactating tits off me and the legion think i'm scum... this has happened quite a lot on several saves (starting friendly) and then somehow going FUBAR. Used a faction-mood-changer mod to make doubly sure everyone loves me heaps... but i'm suspecting it's not working quite right... it seems that altering any kind of interaction via mod or console runs the risk of this 'faction contra-attitude'.
