a great deal of missing textures

somehow i've ended up with a great deal of missing textures. i have no idea how this happened or what caused it. any help would be appreciated. i really don't want to have to uninstall/reinstall the game to fix this.

Maybe just find a texture pack like Skyrim HD - 2K Textures or something similar and install it, it probably should fix the issues.

I'd say that something installed is causing it. Use TES5EDIT run the .exe and once it's finished loading everything up start looking through the Skyrim.esm looking for things that are altering it. If you know the name of that cell search for it in the .esm.

but Arthacs idea is better, and when i used the performance version of it i actually gained a few fps

Easiest & shittiest solution

Nuke your game & copy a vanilla back up into your steam folder them mod it from scratch.

 

You'll probably have to nuke NMM & its save logs & stuff in program files- because you can nuke it & unistall it but all the uncompressed mods stay in that folder

apparently it was just a fluke. after a shutdown and restart of the game it fixed itself. -shrug-
