Z0mBieP00Nani Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Anyway I installed this mod on the Nexus http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11839/? and decided to uninstall it, not knowing exactly what it changed. Anyway, I think I manged to get rid of all of the offending files but now my game is not preforming as nicely as it used to and puddles look like the pic below for some reason. Can anyone offer any advice? (besides the obvious, which would be "don't install mods unless you know exactly what they do".)
RitualClarity Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Verify Cache through Steam Are you using NMM if so Go back through and reinstall the mods in the proper order. Since you don't know what this is or where it is sorry that is the only thing I can think of. Then whatever got removed improperly or screwed up should be replaced when you "refresh" your mod install. Now keep in mind however it might mean that progress you had done for various mods might not be kept and you might have to start over depending on where the info was placed for the progress.
Content Consumer Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Wish I could help on that one - those water puddles always look like oil slicks in my game. In fact, I originally thought they were supposed to be oil. I think it's because my graphics card is barely capable of running the game...
Z0mBieP00Nani Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 What's strange about the "oil slicks" is that I don't recall them looking like that until after I installed and uninstalled the mod. Unfortunately they still look like that but I guess I'll just have to deal with it, especially if it's a graphics card issue. I managed to get my game looking mostly nice again (I decided to just install an ENB that wasn't too performance heavy). I did have to reset the color settings on my HUD, but that was it. I've noticed that apparently antialiasing seems to make a big difference with Fallout 4 (making it look at its worst when set to off, everything looks really pixelated), where as this did not seem to be the case with older games. Anyway, thanks for the advice, I think I got things figured out.
BlackShades Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Wetness materials is what mostly affects the water puddles. Maybe the mod you installed changed that option to on ( or vice versa)
