Animated signatures

I have noticed lately increased number of animated signatures. Those who made them, either haven't read or purposely ignore Community rule number 4

 

"Forum signatures should not be larger than 250 pixels high or 600 pixels wide. They must not contain any affiliate links, or links to paysites, and must be static (no gif). Signatures are allowed to contain pornographic content, as long as it is not anything deemed hardcore, which is up to the judgement of the site staff. A certain amount of leeway in regards to signature sizes or avatars is allowed here, the most important thing is to simply not make your signature overly intrusive or distracting."

 

Now, I'm not playing policeman and I know this thread will disturb some people, but me personally, find animated signature little bit annoying since they slowing down page opening and disturbing my eye sight when reading important posts.

 

I'm asking you as your LL friend, please, change them into static ones... it's better to hear it from me then to be warned by moderator or admins. I did sent some PM to some persons who had animated signature and they changed it. Now, there are too many for me to write a friendly note.

 

Although it's not my businesses to tell those what to do, I'm doing it in most friendly approach and attitude because I care for LL comunnity in global.

Whenever I come across ones I either PM them and tell them that it is against the rules and then paste the rules and right after that I ad block it or just recently I posted a reply to one with the link to the rules page.

Report to the Moderators all people not respecting the rules. Including too big or animated signatures.

PM the members not respecting the rules, if you like. But do not use the "Report" button. It is too heavy.

 

And, remember that you can selectively disable signature for members.

This will reduce a lot the download, because the signature will be just not sent. (An AD block will hide the signatures, but after they have been downloaded.)

The only "problem" with disabling signature is that some people like you, ritualclarity, anatriax and some others have good and informative links in it. If I disable it, I wouldn't see what I want and need to see. The site doesn't recognized static signature from animated. So, it's not the best solution for me.

Just disable the signatures for the people you don't want (I do it.)

 

When you see a signature of a member that is too big or animated just click on the [x] button at the top-right of the signature, and then you will have two options:

1) Disable this member signature [This is the correct selection]

2) Disable ALL member signatures [No, don't do that]

I once changed my signature, not the other still lose eyesight. note: I myself am a Megane-kun.

Folks, please do not PM others about rule violations.  Hit the report button when you see a rules violation and let us moderators deal with it.
