legendarytoyou Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I seriously didn't think people were still playing Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 anymore.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I started FFXI Online back in late 2004 and was all over that MMO(RPG) till late 2012. The last few years I kept saying that SE needs to drop PS2 and revamp the graphics but that never happened. The game was still very popular despite the drop of many servers including my original server (RIP: Hades) and then the merge that made me end up in Cerberus. Still waiting for that crap to go F2P, but who knows if SE will ever do that. I won't drop another penny to them, though. SE sucks.

That game is actually giving WoW heavy competition. Blizzard better do something good with Legion, I'm seeing a lot of WoW veterans migrating to FFXiV.
Captain Cobra Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Last console gen that would just let you pop in the disc and play. R.I.P.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I didn't bother with FF14 after the massive fail when the beta came out. Many friends wanted me to go there but meh... And I was never a fan of WoW. Even co-workers at the time wanted me to jump on it and offered to give me currency etc... but couldn't bring myself to play it. I was playing Fallout 3 during my last few years on XI and I just decided to drop MMO and stick with Fallout and now Skyrim. I was telling them I was going to probably go with TES Online, but when I saw how that came out, I didn't bother. I do, however, miss XI and wanted to return but only if it ever goes F2P.
Atreyu Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 FFXIV is actually really good. I have no hopes for Legion. They killed Frostmourne. I really like XIV's crafting system.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 While PS2 was nice, I didn't like it mixed with pc gamers on the same server. My grudge was we the pc gamers always got stuck on shitty graphics because people were still using PS2. If they would of allowed servers for PC gamers only, I would of gone there. And people always asked me how I could play XI on a keyboard, I never knew how people could use a controller for macros. Now they moved it to PS4, wonder if they plan to revamp the graphics now. Though, I doubt it because it's just too old now. But still the thought of them moving it to PS4 platform seems a bit odd. They must be still getting really good revenue (ofc not like 7-8 years back) or something.

Beautiful game but heavy heavy grind from my understanding. It can be, but leve quests help. Double exp and gil for turning in HQ stuff. Plus the grand company you join has periodic turn ins similar to leve quests that also offer double as well as the grand company currency. Also one benefit of doing all crafting classes is they can share gear so you don't have to have different gear for the different classes. Just a set of crafting gear and a set of gathering gear and you're set for that tier. Plus, if you make your own gear, not only is it possible to wear HQ gear, but making that gear also contributes to the class that made it. The only real grind is getting drop mats. I don't mind "grinding" 3 stacks of ore/wood/herbs. It's the leather and meat that suck.
