help with armor mod?

ok so i found this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20780/?

hair clips through the helmet.

i opened it up in CK, took a look and made some comparisons. most (if not all) helmets occupy a certain number of slots ie hair, head, ears circlet. this helmet only occupies one slot. 31 hair (or was it head?) anyway, i tried to make the necessary adjustments to correct this issue via CK but upon saving was unable to because of a warning that said something about the esp being read only or something to that effect. if someone could take a look at this and show me how to fix it that would be awesome.

Use tes5edit for small task like this.

Then you can change the "First Person Flags" for the helmet.

Did you have the .esp open in anything else? If so that would be the reason why you couldn't save. Like if you have it open in TES5EDIT will throw out a warning until whatever else you have open is closed then you will be able to save the .esp. For full helmets hair and head should be selected to prevent either one from clipping through the head

 

If something doesn't have enough partitions for the item to do that right click the BSDismemberSkinInstance for it and convert it to NiSkinInstance this way all you have to do is set the slots in the .esp and will use the slots you selected.

like a newb i had it open in TES5edit at the time thinking nothing of it. but now a new problem. making the necessary changes to prevent hair clipping through the helmet made my head invisible.

so now i know there's something REALLY wrong somewhere because several styles of this helmet type are clipping including the one from this mod:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8566/?

which i have used in the past with no clipping at all.
