ralfetas Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 A quick question... I am making some studies with weight paiting in outfit studio. I open outfit studio without any reference, load a outfit that i want to make the changes, edit the weight (the butt) and them i go to export nif. When i reopen the nif in outfit studio the changes are not there, is not saving... I know it must be something very simple that i am not making.
myuhinny Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Are the bones you are trying to weight paint to attached to the item you are trying to weight paint? If the bones you are trying to weight paint for are not attached to the item you are weight painting then nothing will happen. You can see if that is the case by weight painting something and then click a different bone and then click back to the one you weight painted chances are it's now blank again. Say if you are trying to weight paint the butt the bone for the butt has to be present and attached to the item you are trying to weight paint if not then nothings going to happen.
ralfetas Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 I was trying to increase the weight in the butt, to see if they can jingle a little more I think the problem is, i was trying to paint only one butt, to have a comparison, i don't know much about weight paint, just the basic, when i paint the two, it worked, not the red one that i paint, but increase a little. I remember back in skyrim, i increase the weight a lot in the butt, but there was the hdt bones...
myuhinny Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm not sure I just know that if I can't weight paint something it is because that node is missing. Like your armor here if I tried to weight paint it right now it wouldn't work because no bone nodes are attached to the outfit pieces. Maybe the node is bad or broken. Maybe try looking at the bone nodes in nifskope see what is all attached to each item and then cross reference them in outfit studio to see if they all appear in it as well as I have had bone nodes appear in nifskope but not in outfit studio before.
ralfetas Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 It is this armor that i am playing with! Indeed, the weights go blank if no node is there, i try some stuff, and it work now, i change the two butt fat bones in outfit studio, but the result was not that much... I was hoping to see a huge increase in the movement, like i do in HDT back in skyrim, the butt was like jello, too jello in fact, but in FO4 no way...
myuhinny Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 skyrims HDT has been around for awhile and has been tweaked to perfection fallout 4 if it has it then it would be in the baby steps area and will be awhile before it gets anywhere near where skyrim is. I was trying to add weighting and stuff through outfit studio but it kept breaking other weight paintings I would fix that one and it would break a different one or remove it completely so I said screw it and threw it into mesh rigger which is what I should of did in the first place. Soon there is will a skyrim jiggle version.
