dongding Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I suppose that everyone, who comes in contact with Fallout New Vegas (Oblvion and Fallout 3) is using that little neat script and want to ask you guys, which settings you are using (respectively, which settings give you the most performance boost / stability)? I'm using HeapAlgorithm = 3 with the Heapsize of 500 but still encounter some massive lags (1-2 sec freezes) after 20 mins of exploring (or less). I'm using a Q9550, 4GB of Ram and a Geforce 560ti. Any suggestions?
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I just run on lowest graphics settings, in my opinion at least bethesda products are too shittily coded to expect them to not stutter at inopportune times.

The only time I do have stuttering is with WarZone running (which is pretty much a given to have stuttering due to the massive amount of NPC's it adds to certain areas - 50 to 60 in massive battles). I have an i7 930 at 2.8GHz with 12GB of Ram and I also have a 560ti.

gregathit Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Well' date=' I am using HeapAlgorith=6 with a heap size of 250.[/quote'] Built in or manual change? To be perfectly honest I don't remember whether that is "stock" or if I selected that. I do remember reading the readme.txt and going over the options but it has been so long ago that I don't remember how or why I settled on that setting. I can tell you that it works well for me. Now for oblivion I use HeapAlgorithm=6 and a heap size of 600. Again I remember both reading up on the settings and playing with things both up and down before settling in at 600.

Well then FNV is stock and oblivion is tweaked. As to my Hard drives - no SSD's. Just two WD 1GB black's (0ne for the OS/apps/misc and one for games).

Thanks so far, probably the lsat question: What iPreloadSizeLimit, uInterior Cell Buffer and uExterior Cell Buffer values are using (Fallout.ini)? I'm also using Fallout New Vegas Warzones and have no problems with the fps in a firefight, but I have a serious problems with memory leaks, Quicksaving and Quickloading helps, but it's still hella annoying.

Course I am also repopulated wasteland, IWS, Gabriels Gangs and Caesar's 5th Cohort as well.
