Would it be okay to ask for help with my load order here, for sexlab stuff?

I'm having some trouble with repeated freezing and crashing during animations in sexlab (both for Defeat and Prison Overhaul) and sometimes crashes upon trying to load a save, and I'm wondering if I might have messed up something with my load order. I'm using NMM and adding the files from their original .rars to install them there, and used LOOT to organize them. I've been checking the requirements for each mod, but I've got some reading issues so taking in a lot of text at once can throw me off a bit. I've used FNIS, however, and everything there seems to check out.

 

If this isn't allowed, please just say the word and I'll remove the topic, or a mod can. If it is, I'm very grateful for any help in making my Skyrim sexy AND stable!

Just kidding.

 

You done most of what you can do. If possible try installing TESedit and run it. When running it make sure all the mods you will be using (activated) are checked. It will work through the mods and if any problems occur it will stop.. give you some info and you can work from that. If it goes to the end then you have something more complex to work on.

 

Hopefully someone here has some understanding of many of the mods you are using (which I am not or have not) and can give a pointer to some directions further than I have.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot tomorrow when I get home from work. Hopefully that'll help, as after that I really wouldn't know what else to try. I could live with it being a bit glitchy, I'd just like to fix it if I can. Whether it works or not I'll post the results.

It will only confirm that you have a proper load order (of the esm/esp name-wise) not that you don't have problems with mods or conflicts. You can very well still have problems but that would at least make sure the masters are in order properly.

 

After that.. uninstall the mods and try installing the most important (replacer, game fixes etc) one or two at a time and test. Then a few more then test and if you find some glitches it then would be easier to trace down. This is barring that there isn't any issues with the mod or the installer glitching or just some errors on your end not installing something right .

Do you get the crashes or freezes loading a save when opening the game (from the main menu) or if you load a save while already playing?

The first seems a common problem people have when installing "too many" heavy mods. There are several solutions I've seen. The one that works best and is easiest for me is to use the mod Live Another Life and to always click New game and then load the save I want. It takes 5 seconds of my time and always works. 

If you get crashes when loading a save while already in the game then it is most probably a problem from a mod that uses scripts. Cleaning the save should help and should fix not only the save you clean but all others that you make in the future.

 

At what time during the SexLab animations do you get the freezes. I get them quite regularly on start and end. Exactly at the moment of undressing/redressing. Mostly at the end - when redressing. I have seen other people ask this but have never seen an answer. I'm using  the MCM menu of SexLab in order to kill the animations if they happen in a moment that I really don't want the game to crash (after no save for a while or during an important scene). When killing the animations this way it never crashes, I have no idea why. And the freezes do not produce any specific errors in the logs. I can see that you use non of the mods that I suspect of causing this so this only gets more mysterious to me.

TES5Edit looks alright as far as I can tell, though I admit I don't know exactly what I'm doing - I let it load until it said the background loader was finished, and didn't get any issues. I'll experiment with having different mods active and inactive, then installed and uninstalled

 

The crashes/freezes tend to be from loading a save when opening the game from the main menu, so I'll try that with Skyrim Unbound, since that's the Alternate Start I prefer and I don't think I could use both, but in theory it sounds like it should work the same way. I do have a LOT of heavy mods, so that could well be the solution. Thanks!

 

I tend to get freezes either right when the animation starts, or when I hit the point of death/capture, where normally the game would enslave the character by whoever managed to kill her, either from Sanguine's Debauchery or the Defeat mod. It doesn't always happen, but fairly often, maybe fifty percent of the time.

I gave the new ENBoost a shot, and it helped! I don't seem to be getting crashes on loading anymore, UNLESS I try and load a save I did during an animation, which I can live with. Thank you both so much for all the help!

Loading saves during animations is a bad idea. It is best to go somewhere where you aren't going to have sexlab animations and such to make a good save. (hard save / named save/ manual save same things not the save in the game. ) Good to have a good save once every so often just in case something goes wrong.
