Avast alert from an old thread

Not sure if this is technically tech support, but:

Someone recently posted there and it got bumped up to top of threadlist. Accessing it makes my Avast bark.

Looking at the page source and clicking around seems to point to an externally hosted image.

Is it just me and my AV or is some domain foul play-ery is in effect here?

The posted image is no more available and gives an alternate basic image.

Huh.

Whenever I opened that thread alerts go off, apparently from an unrelated site (bplaced.net). It repeats when I click on the Posted Image too.

Hmm...not sure if paranoid or just overzealous AV.

I have had a few times where a page threw up a red malware ahead page I sent the pages that it happened on to Ashal who found which one it was coming from and removed it and one they remove the whole page just to be sure. Some hosting sites are the ones that have the bad rating and when they are linked to LL they can cause avast and stuff to go off. 

 

So my suggestion is to PM Ashal with the link and they can get rid of whatever it is probably coming from that bplaced picture.

Sounds like Avast. When I used that program, it kept wanting to block NVAC.

Mine doesn't try to block NVAC though, at least there's that.
