JohnPillman89 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I can load saves but whenever I try to save a game (even directly after loading) I get a CTD and the save doesn't go through. I tried deleting some script-heavy mods but nothing seems to work. Attached are my load order and papyrus log, any help would be appreciated.UPDATE: Now I can't even load the save. Papyrus.0.log loadorder.txt
merryMalfunctioning Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Every time I've had this start happening, it was because I was uninstalling mods mid-game. Even Script Scalpeling isn't always enough to prevent this issue. You can get temporary relief by starting a new game (using Live Another Life), killing the new PC, loading your game, killing that PC, and then loading your game again. At that point you should be able to save again. But the problem will almost certainly come back soon.
Cressy_Ren Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I had a similar problem some time ago. Saw a suggestion to use autosave manager and it worked for me, the problem went away by itself sometime after that. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34842/?

Was it able to save even when manual saving caused a CTD? I don't know how it worked but it worked for me, it was able to save when my manual saves and quicksaves cause CTD. I meant the "save on interval" option in the mod, the manual save option in that mod (F4 button I believe?) would still cause CTD. I set the interval to 5 mins and was surprised it could actually save. I also disabled every other kinds of save options (on area transition, sleep, wait etc etc.) And like I said, the CTD issue went away by itself after a while, no idea how or why. Hope it works out for you too.
JohnPillman89 Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 I managed to fix the problem by just restarting my computer, but I decided to keep the thread open in case it reoccurs. Also, I have autosaves turned off because they tend to get corrupted on bethesda games
