I've been having issues with Imgur links not working correctly.  That is they work once then all I get is "Posted Image" which is clickable but does not bring up anything.  Anyone else having a problem with Imgur?

 

Secondly what would you suggest as a site for picture hosting?

Depends what you are specifically looking for an imagehost for showing images.

 

I personally use imgbox. It's been very very friendly to adult images for the few years I've used it now. Never had any images removed and never had issues blocking loverslab.

Really??? Shit! I have that account for a long time and have nude pictures on it and they didn't lock me. Sorry my friend.

Do you have it set so everyone can see your pictures? If not then that is probably why they haven't done anything. I also thought that they had a set amount of things you can upload and have on their site without having to pay to use their site.

 

Not to mention the site is a ad cesspool ABP is blocking 40 things on just my photobucket page plus the one ad they had that said say hello to biscuit he gets sad when you block ads buy a premium to get rid of them. Followed by me saying hello biscuit meet ad blocker. Ghostery is blocking 18 things on the page.

 

I have had photobucket for awhile now I have a total of about 23 pictures on there but non of them are adult everything is just normal type/funny type pictures.

Good point. I guess I wasn't blocked because my pictures aren't set for public view. Now that you mentioned: my father was banned on imgur for six months for enabling naked and sex pictures for public.

 

I have, as said, naked and sexul content on my Photobucket and there are abut 70 pictures but aren't for public.

 

Do you know if tumblr is "compatible" with LL? I wonder if I can upload videos and pictures from tumblr on LL

Mine weren't set for public view either.  Sadly a few minutes searching turned up plenty of porn on Photobucket so whatever.  I tried Endgameaddiction's suggestion and it seems to be working just fine.

There have been problems before in the past with Imgur on the site where nothing would appear you would have to right click the picture and select open in a new tab or copy the pictures link and paste it into a new window. It was because either they were blocking LL or LL was being restricted so most imgur pictures never appeared correctly.

I just did couple of testing. Imgur is not the only site that LL is not accepting videos and pictures from, but other sites too. I uploaded 2 videos from two different sites, and after a short time, they got broken. So there must be something wrong with LL. Along with incapability to see most pictures from various authors.

 

So ,according to my limited knowledge, imgur has no problem with LL but LL have problem with imgur.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was having trouble with both imgur and tumblr on this site with images not showing up. The blog I just posted shows up for me so I hope everyone else can see it. Kind of defeats the purpose otherwise.

Nah, it's broken on my end. Did you perhaps load the picture itself on its imgur page? Might've still been in the cache so it got loaded that way, or something.

You're right, I did, and yea, it's broken again for me. I'll give this another few days to see if it works itself out, then I'm switching image providers.

 

Meanwhile, I'm doing a test. I'm posting a non-sexual image on LL. This is an image I've never posted before on LLab. My suspicion is the moment traffic from LL is detected browsing this image, it will cut itself off.

Edit: It broke the image almost immediately, yet I'm not seeing any traffic yet from LLab on the image, unless I myself count as being traffic, but you'd think imgur would at least take a few seconds to process the bad traffic! I can also verify my images work fine on other sites. My imgur account is not banned, or anything. I haven't received any notifications. I can't find any news on imgur of any kind. I'm really pissed imgur is doing this, as I rely on them for a lot of my images, and now I'm going to have to take a lot of my work elsewhere.

I've started using imgbox for my pics. They accept adult pics as well, you just need to set hem as adult. Seems faster than some of the other hosts as well.

I've tried Photobucket just now, but yikes, that website is slow. I don't know why. Maybe something they load in the background, or something about their interface that's too taxing and cumbersome.

 

I went with Tumblr. My sig now shows up, but for some reason the sig is a bit downsized from usual. Tumblr is not user-friendly at all, but at least it processes faster than Photobucket. With Tumblr, what's annoying is everytime I post an image, I have to set it to private e-v-e-r-y single time. If I'm not careful, I could accidentally submit a nude image publicly! Something else about Tumblr is it's not strictly an image hosting service, so I need to navigate through a bunch of clutter I don't need (blogs, videos, etc.) to get to the only stuff I care about (images, images, images).

Neither of these options really compare to imgur. Why couldn't imgur just work, damnit!

This is something people need to be aware about if you are going to use imgbox as your imagehost. For a few years I've been wondering why I have not been successful with uploading images from imgbox, but the method that I was trying to do it was not working. I didn't look hard enough into this matter until I started seeing others switch to imgbox and successfully post images on the forum community whereas I was starting to get annoyed by it.

 

I'm going to address this issue with imgbox and find out if this is a error on their end or not. What I do know is that the not working bbcode below  "you are not allowed to use  that image extension on this community" when trying to post or even preview my post worked perfectly fine with the new layout LL site that was recently taken down. Since I'm not a web designer, I can only guess that each site (new and old layout) had different methods of acceptance of bbcodes which is why I was able to post full size images there straight out of my album/gallery and not on this layout.

 

I'm posting this in code form so that you can also see the difference for yourself.

 

Working bbcode (below)

Note: The link above does work perfect and the reason is because it has .jpg at the end of the image link within the bbcode. Here you can view the image just fine.

 

This is the bbcode you get when sharing a full size image right after you've successfully upload it and it takes you to the page where you have options to share it.

Note: The link above does not work because it does not have .jpg at the end of the image link within the bbcode. Trying to past this bbcode here gives me the "you are not allowed to use that image extension on this community" and resorts to posting it as a image link that still won't work

 

This is the bbcode you get when trying to share a full size image within your album/gallery.

 

 

Final Note: So keep in mind if for what ever reason you find yourself in a confusion state as to why you are trying to share images but end up with this "you are not allowed to use that image extension on this community", it's because when you want to share an already existing image on your album/gallery the full size image bbcode leaves out the .jpg. You just need to add it at the end of the image link before [/img] and all should work out fine.

 

So in order for you to post images like everyone else without a problem, after you have uploaded your images you want to share, imgbox takes you to a new page where it will give you options to share the images (thumbnail or full size). This is how the bbcode works fine having the .jpg at the end of the image link and as to why I was able to figure out why it was working one way and not the other.

 

 

 

Again, I will go and address this to imgbox and see if it's an error on their end or just the way they handle it.
