ToJKa Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Just a heads up, something's going on with Steam, the store is showing random people's info on account details page. SteamDB recommends not using Steam at all until Valve gets it fixed: https://twitter.com/SteamDB
spoonsinger Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Just a heads up, something's going on with Steam, the store is showing random people's info on account details page. SteamDB recommends not using Steam at all until Valve gets it fixed: https://twitter.com/SteamDB Well I just had to have a look , and the store page isn't showing at all. Anyway not using it, (if possible), wouldn't actually help as the data is held their end.
Kaz Aanh Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I have noticed. Just don't do anything , don't open any steamlink and change account info and it will be fine. Also it would be wise to check your gmail or bank transactions, there were rumours about people using other people accounts to gift games.
Caliban44 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 i play star trek online along with skyrim and someone in chat said that steam had been hacked today
Guest Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 i play star trek online along with skyrim and someone in chat said that steam had been hacked today According to the SteamDatabase twitter, (they're not affiliated with Valve but you may have used the SteamDb site before), it was a caching problem and they've said it has not been a hack. Here. Update while writing this- It has apparently been fixed. It's currently recommended to only login through the Steam Client and not through the site since we don't have full confirmation if that is okay too.
ToJKa Posted December 25, 2015 Author Posted December 25, 2015 Yup, seems like the situation is over. Still it won't hurt to be careful.
