If I remember right Oblivion in Bruma the priests talked about in Skyrim the nords still worship the old religion(nordic pantheon) not the nine divines. After thousands years existence of the Septim empire they not convert at all and now after 200 years in 4th Era magically everyone completely converted imperial cult.So what happened at all?

If you're talking about the Ancient Nordic pantheon, they "abandoned" that "religion" WELL before Oblivion (They abandoned it first era, Oblivion is the end of the third era.).

The new Nordic Pantheon was basically the 9 Divines with different names. Shor instead of Lorkhan. Kyne instead of Kynareth, etc.

I meant the new nordic pantheon and you're right about it,but if I read right they have a few extra god. I just don't understand why they abadon that, nords supposed to be stubborn people who hardly give up their traditions.

I don't think they ever gave it up. They constantly say they want to worship who they want, I think they're just using Talos as a figurehead for that message.

I see.Probably Bethesda was lazy to do new religions in the game and sticked with the imperial cult. :( .We get some from the old pantheon via draugh tombs and new by some old guy :P.

Sadly many extabilish Lore is lost when Bethesda decided to trade a unique well crafted setting to a more boring typical streamlined one since Oblivion.. If you did the expansion bloodmoon there are many books with nice nordic lore... And is completely different of the skyrim potrayed in TESV... But this is old news...

In morrowind if you talk with an imperial he will tell you that cyrodil is for the most part a jungle... Then Oblivion came out as a generic boring Lord of the ring fantasy like....

Betheshda decided to trow out lore concistency from the window to have more streamlined stuff and attract the masses...

That is what happened...

It doesn't make much sense that Nords are so focused at Talos either. After some hundred years under imperial rule it is understandable that they have adapted him as their own, but in Skyrim it looks like as if Talos was the Nords very own god while no Imperial seems to care. It serves the pot as it gives the Stormcloaks additional motivation for their uprising, but it's not justified by the lore.

Agreed, It would have been make more sense if the Dominion ban the Nordic Pantheon an entire religion wich the nord supposed to be believe than one mantled missing god who isn't even aedra :P from the imperial cult who has eight god besides that. The imperials have more right to riot, because Talos founded their empire first place,he didn't even do shit for the nords expect conquer them. Bethesda and their lazyness :@ . At least the orcs and the dunmer have the religion wich they are supossed to be believe for now.

Yeah I was also annoyed that they removed the Nordic pantheon that included Shor and Kyne.  In Morrowind you had two opposing religions and guilds, the Dunmer had the Tribunal, while the Imperials had the Imperial Cult.  I would have preferred Skyrim be the same.  Although some Nords like the Greybeards still worship Kyne, and others still revere Ysgramor and Ysmir Wulfharth.  So they're a mixture of old, new, and hero worship really, it's just that the Nine Divines overshadow the others.

Thats just worry me of the new TES game. I don't know where will be the next, but I just don't want see imperial cult in Hammerfell or Elwsyr as main religion.

Me neither.  I wanna worship Ebonarm or Tall Papa or that serpent god the Redguards worship, I forgot it's name.

That's something that really disappointed me about Skyrim. I was looking forward to seeing interesting Nordic myths and worship, but instead we get a reskinned Nine Divines. I would've loved to see them go the Morrowind route.

So whats with the eagle, snake, hawk, wolf motifs that you see through out the ancient nordic ruins in skyrim? as i thought these were representations of the ancient nordic gods
