Guest Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Hi all, I have the following problem: During the civil war I play the stormcloak side and during 'liberate haafingar' after I capture Fort Hraggstad, I cannot seem to start its follow-up quest Battle for Solitude. Galmar does thank me for captuing the fort and gives me gold, but that is where the conversation ends and neither does any conversation option appear to proceed. Also Solitude does not seem to be in any war mode and Ulfric still sits in Windhelm. My question is now, how can I solve this problem? Might it be possible to force-start Battle for Solitude through console or trigger it to activate somehow? Or might I have overlooked some prequisite? I already googled and tried various possible solutions though none of them worked so far. Some details and things I tried: - I have bounty in Solitude, clearing it did not have any effect - Continue doing other things for a few days and then return at a later point did not have any effect so far - Using console with cw, cwobj and cwsiegeobj neither worked whatever I tried - Already completed the dragon main questline and the dark brotherhood questline - Galmar was in the other holds also a bit reluctant with 'reporting in' which could be solved by trying to talk multiple times to him but that does not work here now - Attacking Galmar did not have any effect either I can post the load order on request (not bluntly though) though since the game runs fairly stable otherwise I don't think it is really relevant here. Thanks. Y.
Veladarius Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 All the info on the quest is here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Battle_for_Fort_Hraggstad It looks like it needs set to stage 9000
Guest Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Hi, That quest is not the problem since that one does complete, it's the follow-up quest that refuses to start after I hand in your quest at Galmar.
Veladarius Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Use sqv CWSeigeObj to see if the quest to attack Solitude is running and what the stage is.
Guest Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 sqv cwsiegeobj yields the following: 17 aliases, all with status 'none'. queststate: Enabled: No Status: Stopped Stage: 9999 Priority: 0 Also tried to equip stormcloak armor, this did not work. Tried installing CWO from nexus to force-start the quest. This does work, but then the quest never advances so I get more or less stuck there as well. I must be missing something...
Veladarius Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 This is the dialogue from the CK with the different conditions for it to play (located in the CW quest): Unfortunately the Civil War quests are really a mess in the CK and a number of them are radiant quests so there isn't any set info in them. The only thing I can think of is to check the stage of the CW quest and see if it is at stage 50 or not. If it is under 50 you may try setting it to 50 and see if that starts things. Beyond that you may have to go to a save before the end of the capture of Fort Hraggstad.
Guest Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 With player.sqs on cw and cwsiege, it appears to be that the stage is already on 50. I have a hard save only from the moment after I just accepted the battle for fort hraggstad. That screenshot looks interesting, are there any more things I should check?
Guest Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 I think I managed to fix it with some nasty workaround. - Download CWO and add to your modslist - Start game, go back to the point of the battle for fort hraggstad - Complete that fort battle (maybe through console is safest way with 'setstage cwfortsiegefort 9000') - Type in the following console commands: 'set cwocurrenthold to 1' and 'setstage cwsiege 1' to force-start the battle for solitude - Fast travel to Katla's farm, run up the hill and the quest should work normal now I reckon that the CW messed up with the hold it is currently in, since cwocurrenthold (though a cwo variable) had value 0. Also worth to mention that although it is recommended to start a new game if you add CWO, it had little effect on the very last stage of the game so it is fairly safe. Still would prefer a fix without cwo though.
Chaos63 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I tried this and everything else for the last 6 hours and nothing worked, and I had exactly the same reading as you. All I can do now is nuke a 150 hour game and start over. Final patch and the game is still broken. Fuck bethesda, may they rot in hell.
D_ManXX2 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 could be mod conflict what mods do you use that effect solitude ??
