Actually, the protagonist doesn't belong there and comes from afar, on the timeline or geographically doesn't matter. In Morrowind I was a tanned slave girl from beyond the Inner Sea to fulfill the kinky prophecy, to make the locals happy, that is. In Oblivion, what a surprise for any Latino, I was a clandestina in prison (where else huh?), the chica the Emperor always had wet dreams of, probably the sister of Sancho y Pancho that have crossed the Mexican border illegally to Cyrodiil. Finally, nobody has any idea of the roots of the protagonist in Fallout 4, but what is known is that he/she is legally in the country and baby Shaun probably a US citizen like the spouse. In my case, she is where the baby and the guy are. I'd never force the guy that I love to live over here among cattle and horses in a wonderful world full of bullshit, as some ignorant townsfolk say. To be right there where the bombs fall, well, that is bad luck, especially when it happens unexpected, and that's the case in Bethesda's Boston where everybody had mush for brains and did not see the writings on the wall of the bad things to come.
