Jay1646 Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Okay so i just did a new game on oblivion and i broke into this person's house he told me to get out, and of course i didn't... so when he attacked me with his bare hands, i pulled out my sword... even though i hit him with my sword at least 6 times He killed me with his fists.... so realistic..... anyway.. anyone know a good fighting system that is realistic? thanks
Dreamer102 Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 none that I know of. Maybe the guy was trained in martial arts...or you just don't fight well with a sword. May want to reconsider your choice of offensive tactics hehe...

You should try that because it is a massive combat overhaul mod Using it myself and it is pretty good so far
roy12 Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Unnecessary Violence and Deadly Reflex are the best ones. However, Deadly Reflex 6 seems overcomplicated IMO, so I still use 5.
Nightwynd Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 I use Deadly Reflex 5 + DMC Stylish. However unless you get a god-mode item or have a very high level it is not strange to get killed often, even if you have full armor and a better weapon than your enemies.
s60yucca Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 you dont need any mod to do that turn difficult setting to max then he will kill you in one or two blow if you in low level, and even best oblivion vanilla weapon will not able to kill him in 6hit because you only do 1/6 damage while he does 6x damage. But some mod weapon or midas magic will still kill him in one or two shot
gregathit Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I myself use DR 6 and have not found it to be complicated at all. Maybe that is because I did not use the splatter.esp which required pluggy. If you follow the "read me" closely you almost anyone should be able to set it up. Hell, compared to installing and getting Lovers working it was a snap!!!!! Any question that could possibly come up has been answered in the Beth forums as there are a ton of people using the mod. Good hunting either way as everyone has a different taste!!!!
roy12 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I don't mean the install, that's easy, I mean he added too much features, like momentum and such.
Siouliusn Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Yeah, but you know how it is : people always want more,
Daguy Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I use Deadly Reflex and i'd be reluctant to go back to vanilla. On one hand there is a nasty camera bug that can happen if you activate 'horse combat' so I never do, and damage is so severely increased that mods like RaperS have very little chance of kicking in if you set the %chance to the loest like I do. That last one is either bad or good depending on how you play your game (for me its a good thing). On the upside though combat becomes quick and brutal. If you hesitate for even a second in battle it can cost you your life. Battles that I should have won have been lost because I overthought rather than went in for the kill. Magic also becomes fearful; magic can crit with this mod and with an ice spell that means becoming an ice statue for a while or til killed.

DR6 added so many features it took me twenty minutes to look through them all, its awesome when you get it working but I've always advised people to stay with DR5. The effect is still there just not the countless glitches and install problems. Thrown weapons never wanted to work with me until last week lol.
