RC34 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I'm just wondering if there's a sex mod yet. It just seems odd to me that there are all these extras that one would think would come after the base mod, like strapons and areas that are useless without a base mod to go with them. I do like the mods out i mean no offense i just thought it odd or am i missing something?
Firedoom Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I can guess at a few reasons why we haven't seen a full-fledged sex mod for Skyrim. Many talented modders are still more interested in modding Oblivion than Skyrim and I can understand why. It is much easier to mod, the tools actually work, and the sex mods that already exist for it are AWESOME and are just getting better and better. Many talented modders are more interested in the Fallout universe at this time and are busy modding for it. JoshNZ, a notorious sex modder has all but stopped modding due to a family emergency. So definitely don't bug him about it. As I implied earlier, the tools that we use for modding are not up to date and getting things done like animations and models requires some rather tedious workarounds. We need new nifscripts for Blender. Spring is here in northern hemisphere, when summer gets here you can expect to see a lot more modding taking place. But right now a lot of people are busy with school and just don't have the time to learn an entire new scripting language, plus a very different model and animation system at the same time. The sex mods will cum. You can be sure of that. But probably not for another few months down the road. Here is a thread that is attempting to organize current progress on sex mods.

If you have ideas or desires for the sex mods create a thread or something with what you want in it.

The difference is that they have started from absolutely nothing and have only recently gotten past new animation restrictions and even now it's far from perfect.

elsaeraser Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 It doesn't strike me as odd that there are things like strapons before there is a sex mod. If I remember correctly that was the normal order of mods to come out for a long time. It was this way with Morrowind and Oblivion too.

Nope, to be honest it took Oblivion coming on over a year before all the new coding mods like OBSE and all were stable enough to be used for the creation of sex mods. Your going to be waiting for quite a while.

They will usually wait till there is full SKSE with many options like OBSE before even starting anything.
galgat Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 One big thing is there is no clear cut new body winner yet. Until HGEC became the defacto Body, sex mods were there but all over the place depending on which body the modder used, and the same with sexy armor. I remember have 3 installations of oblivion one for Bab, one for HGEC, and another for default, or any new body which there were many that came along. as the modding for each body type was so spread out. And if Bethesda made it hard to add animations then they have set up road blocks to stop Adult modding intentionally. which I do not doubt. Also I have already encounter problems with getting all the resource items needed for some mod's, because some are exclusive steam, and some are just scattered all over the place. Making tracking down everything you need also a problem. Right now in my opinion it is just one big cluster fuck. I hope it improves soon. I have sort of quit even playing skyrim until this BS settles down, and stabilizes, so one would even know what to use. I have not been installing any mods hardly at all, other than Body and face, and I have had to redo some of those already. Its just messed up right now.
