Impact of LL mods on normal game performance, & use of MO.

Hi folks,

It's been pushing a year since I played, but I've a new gpu on the way now, finally.

Questions are partly to do the the sexlab mods, partly to do with mod organiser, which I've never used.

First, do people play complete games with sexlab & various LL mods installed?

Do the LL labs impact performance greatly?  Or do the scripts (?) make that not so good an idea.  I'd only want Sexlab Framework & something basic, like the Romance or Aroused mod.

Finally, & linked to this, is it possible with Mod Organiser to play a game without the LL mods, then save at any point, install whatever LL mods you fancy, load up the save, play for a bit with the LL mods, then just save, un-install them & carry on as if you'd never had the LL mods installed?

Regards,

                   Ian.

It is NOT possible to save, load SexLab mods, play for awhile, save, unload SexLab mods, and continue playing.

This could break your game in a very bad way.

Performance impact depends on your system and the other mods that you have. If you're running a script heavy setup, yes, there will be a performance impact.

If you're looking for a mostly stable mod setup that includes lots of immersion as well as SexLab mods, check out my guide :) It will be updated within the next few weeks (the last update being a little over a month old).

Some mods are more demanding than others, but unless your PC is already struggling to run Skyrim by itself, I doubt you'll run into any significant issues.

With that said, Aroused is one of the heavier mods when it comes to scripting, but there's a lightweight version called Aroused Redux.

If you make a save with LL mods, uninstall them, then load that save, you're going to be left with a lot of unwanted data in that save file. Using a save script cleaner will help somewhat but it's not 100% perfect. When it comes to using multiple MO profiles, it's best to only load saves that were made with the profile you have selected.

Actually, thinking about this some more, I suppose I could save game, install LL mods, try them, then if they caused a problem un-install them & revert to an earlier pre-installation save.

I have about the most crap PC you can imagine that can still play Skyrim. It's slightly below the recommended minimum hardware specs. It plays well enough on the lowest settings. I haven't noticed any additional problems from Sexlab and other LL mods. I do get some high script latency, so sometimes it takes a second or two longer for animations to start running, but nothing really beyond that.

TWO profiles in MO?

Good lord, once I got MO.... I have about 40 profiles in MO. Different combinations of mods. Some tailored more toward male PC, some for female PC, etc.

And in terms of performance? I play on a Mac Mini. Windows 7 in Boot Camp. INTEGRATED graphics (Intel HD4000). The machine has 16GB of memory but I'm sure SKyrim makes no use of most of that. I can't play with a LOT of hi res textures, but I do have some. I can't use fancy ENBs, but I have HiAlgo and Imaginator.
