Looking for game recommendations with these criteria!

Hey fellas.

Need some recommendations since I don't follow the current pc gaming trend and I'm a little clueless on what's out there.

I'm getting a little burnt out of Skyrim and MMORPGs in general.

Looking for a fairly recent game (good graphics very big criteria for me) where you play a female character (be it character creation or fixed protagonist) in an RPG environment (fantasy a big plus). Non-party based (don't like Dragon Age's model), basically the solo adventuress feels. Think Tombraider or something like that but I definerely prefer fantasy and medieval themes. Also not a fan of character switching between male and female protagonists like Witcher 3.

Cheers :)

Edit: To include I've played Dark Souls :P

minecraft :) <-- joking, i would suggest dark soul 1 and dark souls 2 but just a heads up dark souls is all sorts of hard if you dont know what to do. also dark souls is way harder then skyrim so expect some challenging fights.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Although I've tried it and absolutely hated the controls/movement. Terrible, terrible port.

Appreciate the suggestion tho ^^

You'll probably have to look for older titles that would meet part of your criteria. Otherwise, your options will be very limited.

In other words, there is no such game among recent games. I suppose we'd all be playing that right now, instead of Skyrim, if there was one.

Here are some fairly recent ones that caught my attention (all are both female protagonist and non-party based, single player RPGs, but don't really offer great graphics):

Transistor

Venetica

Dex

You might want to check them out.

Exactly. The OP would have seen that for themself if they did a bit more research.

I always cared more about the story and the gameplay than graphics. But you know, "different strokes for different folks".

Come now, Lt. Zombi. No need for such passive aggression.

We're all perverts-in-arms over here in LL :)

why not use a controller than some time when playing skyrim i flip out with keyboard when i never do that with a controller

I do do that, but I still find the controls a little too uncomfortable :(

These look interesting! I'll check them out.

Thanks :)

I guess you could try Blades of Time. It's actually a hack n slash but it fits every other criteria. Plus the protag is hot as hell.

Failing that, let's see...Fable 3 is pretty awesome if you don't mind it being the worst port known to man. Bioshock Infinite has a Liz DLC that's very good.

Huh...don't really know any others.

Passive-aggression? That's a bit of an overstatement. Just say you don't agree with my opinion and be done with it. And really, Google is your friend. Good day.

Now, now, no need to get over-defensive. I did not disagree with any of your opinions :)

No disrespect intended at all, my friend. Apologies if you felt offended,  I was just a little taken aback by your mannerisms, considering we've never met nor have I ever harboured any ill will towards you.

Good day, sir :D

Fable 3 does look appealing! Although it's sad that Steam no longer carries it. Think I'll try Divinity 2 first and if it doesn't work out, I'll go through the hassle of buying Fable 3 from Xbox.com (ugh).

Fantasy you can play female character and awesome RPG.

On GOG.COM for sale DIVINITYII +EXPANSION DRAGON KNIGHT SAGA it's a realy good RPG you play solo and can later even fly as dragon. Huge world fantasy game.

It's called these days director's cut for 18 euros. DRM FREE.

One better RPG'S out there if you like a rather open world and freedom(not compare to skyrim btw) realy nice rpg.

Graphics not bad eather.

Give Enclave a go. It's not recent, hasn't got good graphics, doesn't have much in the way of a storyline and and only has a few female characters for you to play with, but on the flip side it's cheap, has surprisingly fun gameplay, decent music and it's challenging enough under certain conditions.

It is set in a fantasy world, it's technically party-based, but you only bring one character into a level at a time and you get to choose which every single time, so you can just pick the same one over and over for a "single character" experience (which I suggest you do anyway).

My advice, play the Huntress (Light campaign) or Assassin (Dark campaign). They're effectively the same in game-play terms, and they benefit the most from sneaking and head-shots.

Good to see Divinity 2 getting some love here.

I recommend Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines. While the game is pretty old it still looks quite nice with mods for textures/resolution. The story and writing is fantastic and it has some of my favourite characters in an RPG.

Oddly enough, Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns fits this criteria but it is the only one in the trilogy not yet released on PC.

There is also Remember Me. More adventure than RPG really but it sort of fits the bill and was fun enough to play.

I would second Bloodlines but even with mods it still looks old (also community patches & fixes are a must). Damn good game tho.

Personally I think the modded HD textures makes the game look quite stunning. Certainly not in the same league as new games such as Arkham City or even Skyrim but they still look pretty good. Where it truly looks ugly is in some of the animations. Even so, all is forgivable because the game is damn good. I'd post some pics but I can't yet on my account. -_-
