LaEspada Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/3dwvyy/unofficial_skyrim_legendary_edition_patch_usleep/ Arthmoor says that the unofficial patches are going to be merged into a legendary version because most of the community has all the DLC's now. Thoughts? I for one am glad they've decided to go this route. Always could use less plugins in my life.
Mud Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Interesting, and I agree that having less plugins to deal with is always good. I can't help but wonder if they might have decided to do this too late, actually. I'm a bit concerned about what this means for mods that have a dependency on the separate patches but are no longer being maintained. I don't think anyone was really expecting needing to keep their mods up to date with anything else anymore.
bahamut2119 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Hopefully some folks will pick up those few abandoned or on hold mods that do use the other uskp patches and modify their requirements odds are someone here will i'm still amazed how often someone does just that here. The whole community still amazes me in comparison to so many others i've been part of for years.
Rayblue Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 A good reason to have the Legendary version, especially as the going prices for the DLCs are dropping, and moreso once FO4 hits the streets of Steam. Also, this'll induce authors to create versions fully compatible with it.
Guest Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I think it should be optional. People without all the DLC or with mods that don't update really often or are considered 'complete' will be screwed. The unofficial patch is a vital mod, and barring some people from it doesn't sit well with me.

They've been on sale for very low prices during steam sales multiple times.

The reason they're bundling the unofficial patches into a single ESP is because it's a lot easier to work on. Continuing to provide the individual patches separately would defeat the entire point of this change. While I can understand that some people that don't want to get the DLC for whatever reason, at some point you can't reasonably expect mod developers to give themselves extra work just to accommodate those without DLC. Besides, you can always continue using the individual unofficial patches, they just won't receive new updates after 2.1.3.
Akzyra Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I find it good, but some mods have dependencies on the files. They either need to be updates or something with empty files till they update.
