GrimReaper Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Ya, I know that in the old Sexout Mod you could change the positioning of your character with the arrow keys. In the MCM for Sexout you can even chose what keys you want to use for the positioning correction (Sexout is basically unplayable for me because I use a character with the scale 0.9 so all animations are screwed up for me) but changing them or the values for horizontal/vertical positioning manually doesn't do anything either. Also I am unable to cycle through the animations like in previous versions, it was controlled with the "," and "." keys iirc. Is all that intentional or did I screw up my installation somehow?
GrimReaper Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Oh well. Thanks for the quick reply. Guess I am going to play the waiting game now.
Guest Loogie Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Lining that stuff up is hard to do. It's why I stopped playing with short characters in NV and Oblivion.
ChancellorKremlin Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Yeah I had to give my short character up too. Such a shame, I liked her petite 0.9 stature. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes with the positioning.

Well in Oblivion you can adjust the actors. Both of them' date=' actually. I don't know anything about scripting, but I can't really understand why this feature didn't just get ported from SexOut to SexOutNG. It's not only that you can't really play with an actor that has a different scale than 1.0, but sometimes the animations just don't line up correctly no matter what. When you get knocked over for example, your character can sink a bit into the ground, resulting in mismatched positions. Or if the surface is not completely flat. Yeah I had to give my short character up too. Such a shame, I liked her petite 0.9 stature. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes with the positioning. Oh, I know how much of a difference this can be. I did an animation for the Deathclaws once so I kinda have to know that stuff.
tamaster92 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I suppose it helps stop people using inappropriate characters though (lolis and the like)
GrimReaper Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Here we go again. I'd appreciate it if I didn't have to read any of this loli-BS ever again.
modsforme Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I suppose it helps stop people using inappropriate characters though (lolis and the like) I am so tired of hearing from the “Thought Police”. Why do you think that you have any right to tell me what “inappropriate characters” are. This is a GAME and nothing more the pixels on a screen.
GrimReaper Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 q.e.d. I'd say. This thread has nothing to do with lolis yet some people apparently like shitstorms so much that they want to create one if the oppurtunity arises.
Guest Loogie Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 When I played with a short character, its because I like short women. Never been into loli stuff. Plus a loli would neec to be a lot shorter than 0.9.
Guest Donkey Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I think bretons from oblivion are 0.9 right ?? So it should be much shorter to even be considered that. So let's not derail this topic even more. as for the animation to play to much equition needs to be sets to have this work correctly. what if a character is 1.2 the other is 1.0 or ther other is 1.1 and the other 1.3 like that ?? You would have to recreate 1 animations like 4 times to be able to counter this. To much work. And not to mention the scripts will be bigger again. So far there has never been 1 mod created that had a perfect fit for all animation. Also movements for animation in sexout was not working right. If you changed 1 animation with the key all animations will be the same, who could also get even more animations out of place. I think that is why it was temporary removed.

So far there has never been 1 mod created that had a perfect fit for all animation. I don't think you understood what I said. I don't want extra animations, I want to be able to adjust the character's placement during the animation. In xLovers you could adjust the position with the following keys: "1", "2", "3", "4" and "9", "0". In the old SexOut mod, you could do that with the arrow keys - but since SexOutNG doesn't have that feature anymore (why I don't know, seriously this is just beyond my understanding), you can't do that anymore. In previous versions you could disable the "override" part of NG. With that disabled you were able to use the arrow keys again.

Prideslayer will readd this option back it just take some time.
GrimReaper Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 It worked fine for me, though. It was far from perfect but something to control the position during the animations is vital, imo. There are often cases where animations won't line up correctly (for example when you don't stand on a flat surface) and another point is that you can't cycle through animations. I don't like all animations (especially the ones that were taken from Sexus) so that would be nice, too. Like I said, I am going to play the waiting game now.

[/quote'] This is on my todo list btw, it's just that I've been swamped IRL. I do intend to extend the positioning script in SexoutNG to include moving and rotating all actors involved in a sex act the player is participating in. It just might be a while before I can get to it.
Kodiak Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I suppose it helps stop people using inappropriate characters though (lolis and the like) Rest assured... I find your comment far more inappropriate then my character size. I was half tempted to report you for trolling for that. As for the topic, I agree, having use of the directional keys would be nice to have again. My current character is running at .95 which is close enough to full hieght to not be align correctly in most animations. Blowjob animations can be a little off though. I miss my short-stacked character I made whenI first got the BNB body. With the directionals everything was cool, but alas, as mnay have said.... would be nice to have again.
prideslayer Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 The feature didn't make it over from Sexout "classic" for two reasons: 1. It was broken, as already mentioned. Adjusting your position with the arrows created an 'offset' that was applied to *every* animation. Adjusting your position in one animation was un-aligning you in all the others. People were making an adjustment in a doggystyle animation, then making more adjustments in a missionary animation, and then getting confused about why the doggystyle animation was off. As yet, there is simply no way to address this. It will be possible (and not super tedious) once I have put the save/load features into the NVSE extender. 2. I don't have an unlimited amount of time to work on this stuff, right now, I barely have *limited* time to work on this stuff. There were (and still are) much higher priority items than this one. There is a way to manually adjust your position for every animation, just as there was in classic, that is explained in the documentation (main thread). It simply doesn't have the hotkeys because I'd rather deal with people asking for the feature then with nonsensical "bug reports" due to the problem with #1. As for shitstorm/loli, I agree, 0.9 isn't nearly small enough to have that concern and has nothing to do with why the feature isn't in SexoutNG. That said, since it was already brought up, I will not spend an ounce of effort supporting such mods. Best to just understand that and not bring it up again, unless you'd like me to get very proactive about intentionally being incompatible with them, savvy? EDIT: Re: point 1, it was also being applied to all sex, including NPC on NPC. Unless those actors were all scaled down as well, adjusting one was breaking all the rest. Some future version will have per-gender scale-oriented offsets -- if I ever find the time.

I've read the entire first post on the SexOut mainthread (including all the changelogs) but couldn't find anything.

I've read the entire first post on the SexOut mainthread (including all the changelogs) but couldn't find anything. There are horizontal offset (fHOffset) and vertical offset (fVOffset) quest vars that you can set, which are part of the main quest (xx019333), both are floats. You need to adjust those values and try the animations repeatedly until they are lined up, and then save the game -- the values will be reset if you load an older save after that. So in the console it's 'set "xx019333".fHOffset 3.2' or whatever value you want to try.
