dark_helmet Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'm admitting defeat on this, and turning to you all for help. I'm attempting to install a female body replacer and really like CBBE. Since BodySlide 2 comes with it built-in, I am trying to go that direction for new female bodies. I am using Mod Organizer, and have some mods up and running, though only interface mods (SkyUI, MCM, BodyChange, and RaceMenu 3.2). I have XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended also installed, for if I understand correctly- it is the foundation upon which many body replacers depend. Unfortunately, it's not working. My female character still has a vanilla body - though naked thanks to XP32. I got RaceMenu running, and it has a CBBE option in the sliders - none of which actually do anything though. I have a female character at Helgen currently, past the initial execution scene - but in the keep during the dragon attack. I am playing on Skyrim: Legendary Edition. My load order is as follows: Skyrim.esm Update.esm Dawnguard.esm Dragonborn.esm Hearthfire.esm SkyUI.esp SkyrimConfigMenu.esp RaceMenu.esp RaceMenuPlugin.esp RaceMenuPluginXPMSE.esp RaceMenuMorphsCBBE.esp BodyChange.esp And that's it. I have BodySlide 2 installed also, of course - just no plugin files to display. I am certain this is just a case of a greenhorn modder not knowing the obvious, and apologize in advance if I have made a rookie mistake.
ousnius Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Make sure nothing overwrites any bodies of the CBBE mod on MO. If you want to be sure, put CBBE near the end of your data load order. And of course, when using MO, you have to run the BodySlide program with it linked to the manager like SKSE. For BodyChange, you have to replace the body meshes and textures in its individual folders manually.
Arthacs Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Get Alternate Start - Live Another Life, it skips intro and jumps to Character Creation, were u can setup MCM and then choose your start path (vanilla start is included as an option) Perhaps this can help: -When creating shortcut in MO, just open data in right pane -> Caliente Tools -> Bodyslide -> Bodyslide.exe (Right click it and add as Executable in MO),this also work for Fnis and SUM (SUM runs stuff like ASIS, Lootification, Perkus and so on if using them)no need to manually add like u have to do with LOOT, Wrye and TesVEdit, (U also should use these 3). -When u have opened bodyslide through MO and have chosen your body, "left ctrl+Batch Build and browse to "your path"../Mod Organizer/Overwrite and save there and close bodyslide. After that, Right Click your Overwrite folder (should be empty before using bodyslide) in left pane in MO and create new mod, finally check that it have correct path. (..Meshes/Actors/Character/Character Assets) -If using only bodyslide2 u probably need a texture pack aswell.-U want to get bodyslided vanilla armors and create meshes through bodyslide for new body.
Yuni Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'mma ask the question no one else is asking. You do realize that to replace any given outfit aside from NAKED you need more mods that replace those armors/clothing sets, right? JUST Bodyslide will only affect your body when you are not wearing torso equipment. If you want to see your naked self, take your armor or shirt off, Hun. It also only affects females. If you want to replace armor sets, find a mod that bodyslidifies them.
dark_helmet Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Oh, yes - sorry I should have specified that this is indeed for a female naked body. I understand I need more mods if I want to add armors and clothing. Male bodies will follow once I get the female one sorted out. I have BodySlide 2 running as an executable in Mod Organizer. I was able to customize a body and ctrl+'batch build' to my mod organizer overwrite folder. I turned the folder into a zip and installed it as a mod...was that a correct action to take? Realistic Ragdoll & Force has been installed as I read that it is important for animations to function. I also have installed FNIS Behavior into my data folder and ran the patches for it in FNIS for Users - "GENDER Specific Animations", "SKELETON Arm Fix", and "groovtama's Alternative anim. for XPMSE/RaceMenu". Still no dice, sadly. Would starting a new character from scratch be a possible solution? I will check out Alternative Start, thankyou for that - I was finding the intro tedious.
RebelInfernal Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Anatriax made a very good guide that helped (by which I mean taught) me to get Bodyslide working with MO. Here it is: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/47360-anatriaxs-wonderful-world-of-skyrim/
dark_helmet Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Sorry for the delayed response, but I've been troubleshooting this off and on when time permits. Anatriax's tutorial really helped! Though it still involved some flying by the seat of my pants. The trouble maker was BodySlide 2, no doubt about it. Upon install I ran bodyslide as an executable and followed instructions. Afterwards I went to my MO overwrite folder only to find it empty. I decided to follow a manual install in the readme, and noted the files intended to be overwritten in \skyrim\data\meshes\actors\character assets. The problem was there was no mesh folder in \data? I manually created the folders and then copied over the files from the body slide meshes folder into it - and it is now up and running. The head replacers are not working yet, sadly - but I'm sure I could get it sorted out using a similar method. There are no neck seams and I have 'Better Females by Bella Version' to make the vanilla faces look better, so it will do for now. I have 2 possible ideas as to what could have been the problem, but since I know just enough about modding skyrim to get into trouble - it can only be considered speculation on my part. 1 - The original install was in my \program files(x86) and I am seeing occasional literature stating that the admin requirements could break some mods for skyrim. 2 - Legendary Edition has a different (perhaps minor, perhaps major) file hierarchy than the classic version. Some mods are attempting to create files in folders not there in LE. Like I said, this is just speculation. But in the event someone else has this problem and stumbles onto this post - hopefully it can provide some useful tips.
