gameleirabh
I know NMM it is not a beloved one but MO it is not easy to me, my skills are far from zeros and ones. Early I had troubles trying to install SkyUI Now I'm trying to install the CBBE body and a creepy message appears: The game is here: C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim SKSE 0172 is installed I made files and folders exceptions at the av and antimalware And I stop 'cause I'm tired to fight. Suggestions and ideas will be very welcome. Salute Link to comment
Erundil
Try this - forget mod managers and try installing mods without them. It's a brutal, but very efficient way to learn how mods work and what folder structure they require. It may be painful and time consuming, but the knowledge and experience you're going to gain will be useful with many future games as well. Mod managers are supposed to make installing mods easier. But first you need a basic grasp of modding your game in general. If you know nothing (like Jon Snow), then mod manager can only speed that nothingness. 5 * 0 is still 0. Link to comment
gameleirabh
That is so good! Thanks! Link to comment

I actually learned to install mods manually. I didn't know how to use NMM at all for months. One day after swapping my armor for the 100th times by going data-->meshes-->armor--->bandit... I said, there's got to be a better way. And there is. Once you know your way around the creation kit then NMM and Mod Organizer are life savers. But he's right, if you don't know how the creation kit works then you can easily spam your data folder with nonsense, including screenshots, readmes, and meshes in the wrong folders. Link to comment
gameleirabh
Actually I was scared to wiggle into the data folder, that is why I liked Erundil's idea. I installed CK once, time ago, with the intention to learn the game files' structure but CK won Anyway, I started with the task inner land (Data folder) so I will busy learning. Link to comment
Gameplayer
I also started with manual installs. Things have changed a lot since I started and now a days there are really good video tutorials on YouTube. I sometimes still use them too. I like GopherVids the best. Link to comment
gameleirabh
Yes. I like Gopher videos too! Not bad, the installation ran without problems. Only one error with Remodeled armor, I repeated standalone and vanilla. But CBBE HDT body XPMS2HDT skeleton works perfectly! The same with SL Framework, Alternate Live, etc I use LOOT each time I add a mod so there is no problems with esp's locations. I'm grateful to you guys for encourage me and for the time you used to help Link to comment
Sailing Rebel
BTW, that error you were seeing is most likely due to your browser or permissions configuration. If you are downloading a mod from Nexus try the manual download option instead then add it to NMM from the file. Link to comment
gameleirabh
I use to download manually to store the mods in other drive as backup. Chrome is the default browser running and never gave issues even when I tried to use MO. My guess is still pointed to the av. Link to comment
