CTD on armor unequip

so for some reason (this has never ever happened before, it's on a fresh skyrim install), whenever i take off any clothing in the main slot, the game CTD's
this is definitely related to UNPB, since i removed it and the problem was fixed
i really do want to use UNPB, however, so i don't know what to do
the myriad of other topics about this on loverslab have not fixed this problem, and i'm completely out of ideas

Did you install a skeleton? I went through your load order and didn't see one(if I missed it, please correct me).

This is just a load order list not a mod list, since their is no esp for a skeleton it wont be on this list even if he installed one properly. This is another reason I like MO it lets you post your mod list as well as your load order. Still as the others have said the skeleton is a prime suspect are you using HDT if so make sure your using the proper skeleton for it. Also what sort of skin textures are you using? If you're using 4k skin textures then you might try something lower rez and see if that helps.

How do I export a mod list though MO? i'm sorry.

I had a similar problem, though for me equiping/unequiping armour wasn't a straight out crash, but a few second freeze.

 

The problem usually isn't in your load order, but the actual order of your mods in MO. (So the left side panel where you instal your mods)

I can't give you an exact list of what should go after what in the mods list, as we use different mods and have different errors (even if similar and probably from the same root), but some pointers on how I set it up to work:

 

Armour mods (Especially the ones that can be bodyslided)

Animation mods (Every mod that gives animations that FNIS pick up)

Fnis output (Everything FNIS outputs in the Overwrite folder after you run it)

meshes from bodyslyde (If you don't use bodyslide than any mesh that modifies your body/armour should go here I guess)

Textures

Skeleton

Just to be sure, did you re-install the skeleton letting it overwrite everything else? If so, check to see that you have all the requirements for the skeleton and install it again if you're missing any requirements, if using XPMSE you need:

SKSE v1.7.2, Realistic Ragdolls and Force, RaceMenu v3.2.2, and FNIS v5.4.1 (or newer).

Something you coult try:

 

Create a new profile in Mod Organiser.

 

-Only activate mods that add animations, body meshes, textures, skeleton/phisycs and FNIS. Also activate Live another life and Race menu ofcourse, plus any mods that are a requirement for the activated mods.

-Run FNIS, create a new folder for it's output (Don't forget to name it differently, so you don't accidentally activate it in your main profile later) and dump it's output there.

-Sort their mod list order ofcourse, and let LOOT sort the load order (or you can sort it your self if you don't trust LOOT).

 

Now run the game.

 

If you still crash, try deactivating textures first. After that if you still crash try deactivating body mods. If you STILL crash than the animation mods (Don't forget to re-run FNIS after you remove them). And lastly, if you crah even after this than your problem is the skeleton most likely.

 

 

Otherwise, if you set it up and you don't crash at all than you have a mod in your main profile that somehow conflicts with your body/skeleton, perhaps textures. In this case you either have a mod that is incompatible, or you need to find the error in your load order.

Textures are not going to outright crash you that seems really unlikely.

 

Although the skeleton is often the culprit for crashes and often it is overwritten if your certain its fine.

 

Then your likely dealing with a corrupt or altered naked body mesh.

 

The other possibility with the skeleton is you might be installing the wrong skeleton for UNPB....Now that I think about it your likely using the UNPB redux from Nexus right?

Chances are your trying to use either a HDT skeleton or something when you need to use a TBBP skeleton.

 

There are quite a few options to install with the XPMS skeleton FOMOD installer pack.

I figured it out, although this makes no sense whatsoever

The first sfw option in the unpb installer is what is causing the crashes. I tried it out with the other options and even the nsfw option and it works perfectly.
