I have written over both the necessary skeleton files multiple times using the PK .7z file. Here is the weird thing, though. The version of PK that I have overwritten my skeletons with -- MULTIPLE TIMES, I MIGHT ADD -- is not 95 kb. It's 94 kb. I don't know if this is because I downloaded the wrong version or what, but I did download it from this site three separate times, and each time, the skeleton file is only 94 kb. I have also done the thing with OBMM and the .bsa and everything. I've triple checked my load order against other peoples' load orders, since I have some things that others don't. (I'm also having problems with some people being nothing but floating eyeballs and hair and shouting that they have NO GREETINGS for me, so if anyone can see how that might happen through my load orders, that would be awesome, too.) EDIT: Managed to get everything worked out. I somehow missed the one post that mentioned that you have to download your own body textures. (I figured that, since the mod's readme said it has "every mesh necessary", it also included body mods.) Go ahead and close/delete this one, I guess... Link to comment
kingkong
your load order seems better than mine !!! did you run archiv invalidate via bsa redirection in obmm ? to make sure the bas is redirected correctly . check in oblivion.ini if it is correctly redirected sometimes with steam it is reset to default . applesnraisins
I did run all of the invalidate/redirections. Checked in Oblivion.ini and it looks right. At this point, now I'm just having random crashes after a sustained amount of play, which is....annoying. So I suppose my issue has shifted from "I can't get PK to work" to "I can't keep my game running because it crashes". Anyone see any issues with my load order at all that could cause this? kingkong
can you disable ' alternate start mod ' and test your game without you might need to start a new game. i have heard of a conflict with a mod similar. Link to comment
applesnraisins
I can try that, sure. Give me a bit and I'll edit this post in a couple of hours (giving it plenty of time to crash). EDIT: Uhhhhhh. The text for the other prisoner at the beginning is a bunch of random text characters. The same happens when I try to select some races, incidentally. I feel like this is because the text that the game is trying to grab from is no longer in English. Did I mess up somewhere...? EDIT 2: The game crashed when I tried waiting for ~7 hours to pass. Uuuuurgh, I don't know the last time I saved. Link to comment

gregathit
EDIT: Managed to get everything worked out. I somehow missed the one post that mentioned that you have to download your own body textures. (I figured that, since the mod's readme said it has "every mesh necessary", it also included body mods.) Go ahead and close/delete this one, I guess... Not to be an ass, but the installation instructions clearly states that you MUST install bodies and even gives links to get them, so no, your statement is not correct, but rather taken horribly out of context. The "every mesh necessary" is clearly meant for the animated penis/futa/dildo meshes which do not come with any body mods out there. From the readme: By default the male body is designed to match up to the muscular version of Roberts male body v5.2 By default the female body is designed to match up to HGEC Hcup. From the installation instructions text file: 1. A male and female nude body plugin. 1a. For Males: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/40532/? Default LAPF uses Robert's Muscular body. Alternate Robert's body versions are available in the "Alternate Male Body Pack". 1b. For Females: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/34442/? NOTE: This is an OMOD file so you will need to use OBMM to either install it or extract it to a temp location to install it manually! Default LAPF uses the LL lower body. Most animations are tuned to Hcup but you can use any cup size smaller than that with very few issues. A few animations that have tit grabbing will be slightly off but there are not many of those. I also recommend grabbing the "HGEC foot fix" as it changes blocky toes into more natural looking ones. Please remember to select the "No Animations" option if you plan on installing NoMaam's BBB animations (step 3). 1c. If you wish to use DMRA then grab the "Alternate Female Body Pack" and switch out the lovers meshes with it. I don't have a particular DMRA body link that I recommend. Pretty much any of them from the Nexus or Lovers Lab should be fine. Point of all of this, read everything as it will save you a heck of a lot of aggravation! Cheers, Greg Link to comment

applesnraisins
There is nothing wrong with your load order as it currently is. You should be fine. The age old adage applies, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's the thing: I'm still having issues with my game. Otherwise, I'd have stopped posting. My issues are thus: 1. I'm getting random crashes through my game. Did I try to wait? Crash. Did I step into an outdoor area? Crash. Did I look at an NPC funny? Crash. I know that the Steam version of the game is known for being a little...crashy, but is it supposed to be so bad that I can't play for an hour without experiencing one? 2. A lot of random text in my game (descriptions for races, the beginning dialogue with the prisoner across from you, etc.) is in garbled mush. I'm assuming it's because the game is trying to draw from something that has non-alphabetic text (like Japanese, since the Tamago-esque mods are originally in Japanese) or because something is wrong with my load order; maybe I'm missing a mod that another mod depends on, idk. gregathit
For item 2: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/4487-please-read-before-posting-here/ If you look at the recommended load order, you will see all the MBP stuff in red. You will see the note that says all items in red should be merged together into your bashed patch and disabled. That will help get rid of much of the garbled text and also help stabilize your game. X117 race English should be below x117 race. The whole point of the english esp patch is to over-ride the other. With oblivion, the mod that is lowest in the load order wins in cases of conflict. Thus the japanese version is over writing the english patch. Also get rid of the Natural mods. Get your game stable before you add stuff like that. Remember when you build your bashed patch you MUST disable all lovers/tamago esm and esp files or you risk breaking them. Link to comment
applesnraisins
Alright. I installed Wrye last night and didn't find that initial bashed patch, but I probably just did something wrong. I'll look into it again. Thank you. Link to comment
varenne
X117 race English should be below x117 race. And this is one that can be merged; you replace the Japanese text with the English. TES4Edit is the best way to do it, then remove the extra ESP. And the rest of this, reads like not enough reading and gradual addition of more mods to me... ...just like all the other newbies. Alright. I installed Wrye last night and didn't find that initial bashed patch, but I probably just did something wrong. I'll look into it again. Thank you. Installing WB and creating a Bashed Patch is the first step. Learning how to use it correctly is the next. Link to comment

Installing WB and creating a Bashed Patch is the first step. Learning how to use it correctly is the next. Please believe me when I say that I did a lot of reading when trying to install everything correctly. It's entirely possible that I missed some of the stuff I needed to do while going through multiple pages of information, especially when many mods require even more mods, which require still more mods. ("Creatures? I don't even know if I want Creatures, but the instructions tell me to get it, so I guess I have to get it!" is a perfect example of this.) I'm by no means "a newbie" to modding, but I am new to modding Oblivion, which is different than what I'm used to. Sorry if that's so terrible. My big problem with WB right now is that it's not even opening when I try to do so. Going to read up on doing that, then hopefully, I can work on getting everything fixed. EDIT: It seems the only way to get WB to work is if I move my installation of Oblivion, which apparently requires me to move all of my installed Steam games and that's quite a bit to do for a single game to not crash as often, so I think I'll stop at the step I'm at. I've got no more stretching, hopefully my garbled text issue has been resolved, and my game can run. That's a lot better than things were ~32 hours ago when I had absolutely no mods from this site in my game at all. Thank you for the help, though I wish the tone hadn't gotten condescending towards the end. Especially since all I did was ask for help...in the section made for people that can ask for help when the FAQs didn't answer their questions. But hey. Life goes on. Link to comment
Vaelorian
You can create a new Steam main folder elsewhere on your computer, installing only Oblivion there. There are various guides on the internet to achieve this available on the net, requiring only a simple search to find. Copy your Data folder elsewhere, uninstall Oblivion, and copy it back. If you made any changes to your Oblivion.ini, you may wish to create a backup of that too. Then, remove your current Oblivion install and re-install it elsewhere. Finally, copy the files you made a backup of. Your new install is now ready to go. Good luck, -V Link to comment
varenne
@ applesnraisins Sorry if that's so terrible. and Thank you for the help, though I wish the tone hadn't gotten condescending towards the end. No, it's not so terrible. And condescending?! No, that's your interpretation and not and never my intention. Here's the fuller text, maybe it'll read as less condescending. 1. Lots and lots of reading, and when you're tired of reading read some more. 2. Gradual addition of more mods, test in-game a few times under varying circumstances. 3. Review fejeena's tutorial/help links in signature. 4. Setup tools, read how and why to use them. 5. Search for already posted questions, and yes, post when you cannot find the answers you need.* 6. Understand that running a Steam version adds another layer of complexity/difficulty/challenges. Example using the Site: Search operator (The search engine or algoritm for LL is well, primative at best, use Google.) Steam site: http://www.loverslab.com/ Oblivion is much much harder to MOD than other games, and so many new to it just jump into the deep end without doing the requisite homework first, expecting it to work flawlessly. Good that you are. And 32 hours! Pfft! Those setting up and modding Oblivion these days, have all the benefits of those that came before them (and their posts and tutorials), when it was much much harder to get it all to play nice together. 32 hours is nothing to what it was 3 years ago; very few or no readmes, tutorials or MOD translations. applesnraisins
Disappeared for a while there. Mostly because I was working on trying to figure out how to get things to work. And I finally got WryeBash to open. Finally. Had to use the standalone version, you see. So all of the mods that were in the list and IN RED have been merged into the bashed patch and the originals have been turned off. It is also nicely placed right above the Lovers things that NOTHING SHOULD EVER GO UNDER. Since fiddling with my load order at the start of this thread, I have been having fewer crashes, but they're still happening. Will try running the game with this new bashed patch and see if that helps matters. If not, I get to do more research into how the Tamago/Hiyoko Club mods work. There's someone there in the thread that knows what's going on and how to fix issues going on with the mod, but they...don't speak English very well, so I can't understand them well enough to actually fix what may be happening in my game. EDIT: So I started up my game and I'm still getting gibberish for race descriptions, despite having the English versions of things below the normal versions of things (I listened!), though the dialogue for the dude in the cell across yours in the beginning has been fixed. EDIT 2: Crashes after long waits/after moving to new areas seem to have completely disappeared! Had no clue just bashed patching everything could make such a huge difference... So yeah, at this point, I'm just trying to fix the gibberish instead of English issue. I'll re-post my load order, just so people can see what's been changed. Which Tamago/Hiyoko Club thread are we talking about? There's enough of us that do read and write English at varying levels in the current thread that can help. (That's a rather huge assumption, bordering on insulting...) BUT, you need to address all other issues first. I recommend disabling anything Tamago/Hiyoko Club related till you do so. A good target to aim for is being able to play the game, anywhere in the Oblivion world for at least an hour with a max FPS of 50, and an average in the mid 30s. If you cannot then you need to work on your optimization and stability. I believe fejeena's write up includes the tools to achieve that. If you use BOSS to sort the larger % of your MODs, then hand sort Lovers MODs, it gets much much easier to maintain as you go forward. I don't recall you mentioning which MOD manager you are using, but OBMM has a feature for exporting and importing your final, stable LO. You then maintain a set of exports, that you create each time you add more MODs. This way you can easily revert to a prior LO setup, if things go tits up. And there is a feature in WB, (Mod Checker button, Copy Text button) that allows you to copy and paste your current LO, with all merged/ghosted MODs too. That helps others to help you, by being able to see it all. Regarding your "gibberish instead of English issue", there are two 'main' MODs that can affect this. One is, Beautiful People 2ch-Ed ENG Race.esp and a second if you are using it is x117race.esp and x117race ENG Race.esp*. Both with the ENG in the file name should be merged into your Bashed Patch and have a Bash Tag of R.Desciption. Since I'm still seeing both of these in you last posted LO, you clearly don't have them merged into your Bashed Patch. *(You can actually use TES4Gecko to merge x117race.esp and x117race ENG Race.esp together into one ESP, but we'll go over that at a later date.) If it still persists, after completing the above, you may have the wrong versions of some MODs; those that were translated vs, those that were not. Link to comment

What I meant was that, when I looked into one particular thread, there was one person that frequently replied that seemed to understand very clearly what was going on, but they didn't speak English clearly. Someone with what looks/looked to be a purple...anthropomorphic cat/jaguar? I think? I didn't see those in the "MERGE THESE ONES IN RED" part, so I didn't think to merge them in! I will immediately do so. So far, I've gotten the game running for a solid 5-6 hours without crashing (I had to stop eventually, got sleepy), but any kind of optimization is well-appreciated. By the by, does anyone know of a "skip the irritating starting dungeon thing" that doesn't interfere with any of the Tamago/Hiyoko mods or the Lovers mods? I have the "alternate start" mod, but it was causing me problems and making things not work right. And it's getting a little annoying having to do the starting area over and over again each time that I want to test and see if things are finally working right... EDIT: Regarding Mod Manager usage, I was using OBMM to hand-sort all of my mods (used BOSS before and it absolutely destroyed my load order, as well as made my game crash straight to desktop before "Bethesda" even showed up on my screen), but now I'm mostly using WB. I can probably learn to live with it, though. It's a little "eh", but I'm okay just leaving it like it is. ALSO, in that master load order in the yellow link, there is no mention of where to place "alternate start" mods, nor is it in that post that describes different kinds of mods and where they generally go (unless it is and I just don't know how to describe an alternate start mod using those descriptions...) Vaelorian
Swap OBMM for TESMM. And no, I don't mean "NMM" by that, though people frequently confuse the two they have nothing in common. TESMM is the continuation of OBMM; it has identical functionality, but it's faster (both boot-up and performance). BOSS can also sort your mods according to an order you specify, instead of you having to sort everything by hand every time. Very handy for when you are a mod maker yourself (editing a mod changes it's timestamp, and thus it's position in your load order), perhaps less so for mod users. You will have to spend a while writing all the overwrite and add lines, though. Link to comment
fejeena
You must not run BOSS, you can download the BOSS masterlist and open it with Notepad++ and search the Mod(esp/esm) Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp in your Load order above SetBody Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp SetBody.esp -------------------- LoversJoystick.esp * Delinquent Master: SetBody.esp ???? LoversJoystick.esp must be below SetBody. Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp SetBody.esp LoversJoystick.esp Link to comment
varenne
Yes I feel we are lucky to have some very intelligent, knowledgeable and experienced members with us, that are not native English speakers or writers. If you run into a post that you cannot understand or comprehend, just post a queston. Someone here is more than willing to help explain it further if need be. The rest of your last post reads like progress. Regarding BOSS, I should have been more clear to just manually use the masterlist.txt, instead of actually running BOSS. Get Notepad++ as you can turn on line numbers as a reference for locating where MODs fall. You can also, once you begin to understand the structure and purpose of BOSS and the masterlist.txt either edit the masterlist.txt itself, or use the userlist.txt. The userlist.txt is for adding those that do not appear in masterlist.txt file. There's a Lovers-based userlist.txt floating around the 'net, but I don't recommend using it as it is woefully out of date. masterlist.txt Once you get Notepad++ installed take some time to review the masterlist.txt file. You will then see that there are logical groupings for MODs. At the very top it starts with BEGINGROUP: ESMs , then BEGINGROUP: Earliest mods , BEGINGROUP: NPC face mods , etc. Review the rest to become familiar with them. You then, as you add more MODs that don't actually have a LO designation, try to locate the best possible location by adding it to one of the logical groups. When adding to a group rule of thumb is alphabetical. Sometimes this can be hit or miss, hence then need to test a save game immediately after adding any new MODs to your game and configuration. Sometimes a slight position adjustment up or down in you LO is all that is needed. I didn't see those in the "MERGE THESE ONES IN RED" part, so I didn't think to merge them in! This is also where you will first see any Bash Tags, indicated in the masterlist.txt like this: TAG: {{BASH: NpcFaces, NoMerge}} So when adding new MODs always check for those, and then run WB as needed to rebuild your Bashed Patch and add those tags for that particular MOD. (you can also just open WB after adding a new MOD and look for bash tags too. ) When using LAPF, I'm fairly sure this one can be disabled and removed, but verify it first by reviewing that thread: * 19 MaleBodyReplacerV5.esp Continue focusing on finalizing your LO and getting it rock solid, before turning on anything Tamago/Hiyoko related. Once you do turn them on and begin generating Hiyokos, avoid adding any more MODs above that set of MODs, else you will potentially need to run the hiyoko cleanup spell to remove them, possibly rebuild your bashed patch and then turn them back on. The reason is there is a nasty bug that cause headless hiyokos, due to the head assets location being saved in the save game. During game load it looks and when it cannot find it in the exact indexed location, it will cause major CTDs and lockups. * 2E LoversEncounter.esp - This one will override any settings you make in tamagofertilityclinicgcl.txt, which is used by the TamagoFertilityClinic.esp. Guards will in most cases then bread like rabbits and Hiyokos like mice, eventually filling your game with their offspring.
