Would anyone know if there's a way to configure SL in order to add more stages? Maybe there's a mod out there that already does this?

There is an inbuilt limit on (stages * actors), the fewer actors means more stages are available. Do you have or are you working on an animation that will require a larger number of stages and actors? If so specify how many actors and how many stages and perhaps you can convince Ashal to increase the limit to allow your sex act.

No, sadly I'm not a modder  . I was curious about having more stages because it would be interesting to see a threeway or fourway that doubles the standard stage amount of four to eight. Possibly after the first set of threeway or fourway animations a second separate set is performed? 

 

Since it isn't possible then that's alright. Just a personal little quirk.

As a quick side now, SexLab 1.60 actually removes this limit entirely and animations can be made with any number of stages.Though this is honestly just a side benefit to some animation setup changes combined with the new skse arrays, the stage limit on current versions has never really been a concern for animations as far as I'm aware.
