ENB recommendations [for me to use]

So. To make things simple, I'm looking for a new ENB to use. I've grown tired of realvision and want something with flair. color. saturation. but at the same time something not really bright while at the same time not kicking my outdated pc in the ass [the 255 mods already do that]

And if possible I'd like if it worked with climates of tamriel. mostly cause I don't like the tedious process of uninstalling it.

intel® core i7 cpu 920@ 2.67ghz

nvidia gtx 760 gpu

and 6gb of RAM

I plan to upgrade by building a completely new computer but for now this works. If possible I want an enb for gameplay and one for screenshots. bonus if it works good for both

I was working on building a new rig and ended up just updating my older PC.  So I really had to work with something that would not be demanding on FPS.  I tried several ENBs with no success.  Mostly everything I tried was too dark.  Drove me crazy.  I ended up with "I Can't Believe It's Not ENB" (a.k.a. Non ENB).  I use it with Climates of Tamriel and Imaginator which are required.  It also requires/suggests Enhanced Lights and FX, but I don't use that because the indoor areas are way too dark for my liking.  I have to carry a torch or use spells in order to see anything in a cave or even indoors.  I know people like that kind of thing, but I like to be able to see my character in 3rd person at all times.

This may not be what you want, but I find it to be really nice.  Most importantly, I'm able to run the game on Ultra settings at 50-60 FPS.  As for screenshots...this may not be perfect.  I have no idea what you might like in that perspective.  I just really like this set up.  Check it out and see if it's something you might like.  It's worth a shot.

In general i like to use the mod ultra realistic world lightning with any enb that doesnt add too much color, cause that lightning mod adds nice non-oversaturated colors to the world and does not add overly strong colors to any lightsource c:

I was going to make this thread! Every time i try a enb it always looks kinda faded or washed out or weird colors . . .

I am going to try this when i get a chance :-)

Also, I have used Far Off ENB with the Depth of Field turned off for quite a while. I'm usually running a rock solid 60FPS with it (so I use it a lot to test mods)

You have a better CPU than I do, and we're pretty evenly matched on GPU. I have 2GB RAM more though, so I don'T know if that would affect it

The ones I constantly go back to is always either Project ENB or Vividian ENB. Currently using Vividian ENB with Purity, but it also supports Climates of Tamriel as well. Go with the vivid version if you want color, and the brighter interiors and exteriors if you don't want it to be too dark at night. And the extra weather patches with Vividian make it awesome.

They are both great ENBs and have good performance as well, even on my old system. Another new one I've tried out that is pretty good, is Toric Law of Nature ENB. Very soft and colorful. Not dark at night either. Even has good performance too. And has a neat wet effect during rain and such. It's a very unique ENB and I'd recommend at least checking it out once.

If you want major performance, there is a new ENB that just came out recently called Phoenix Cinematic ENB. Just gave that a try as well and it looks rather neat and has great performance. Though it can be rather dark at night. And if you're not a fan of wet oily skin, there is instruction on the main page on how to remove that as well.

If you're not very keen on Depth of Field, I'd recommend disabling it on any ENB you try. DoF is pretty demanding and eats performance. You'll get a good 5-10 FPS increase without it, depending on the style. Then just turn it on when you want to take pretty pictures, but leave it off during regular game play.

Sorry for off topic but i dun wanna make a new thread...

What is the safest way to change enbs? Can ya copy the files directly across or do you have to compeltely remove the old enb stuff then copy the new one over?

Its best to completely remove the old ENB files before installing the new ones because not everything gets overwritten.  The best way to delete an ENB is to keep the original files somewhere, copy them over to your Skyrim folder, overwrite all files, then with the copied files still highlighted, delete them.  That way everything is taken out and you don't have to guess which files are ENB files.

As far as ENB's go, Here's a few you might want to take a look at.  All use COT.

If you would be willing to give up COT, you might be able to find what you are looking for.

@ao2thend - I think my skyrim folder is beyond saving at this point with enbs then..blah. ive tried so many without removing anything else first.... oops!

Agree with Eikichi on lighting. Relighting Skyrim is by far the best lighting mod. Especially with Enhanced Lighting for ENB tagged with it. It's like a match made in heaven and they were meant to be together (well, technically they were since they were worked on by the same people). Both were designed to mesh perfectly with each other and they do just that.

Tried all the other lighting mods out there, but none do as good a job as those two together. ELFX, URWL, and RLO might be nice, but the lighting isn't as good as RS+ELE.

I'm also going to echo this.

You'll do whatever ENB choice you decide on, an injustice, if you're not running Relighting Skyrim and ELE.

These ones:

-ELE Interior Lighting Merged (don't use the imagespaces and this merges them all so less clutter)

-Enhanced Lighting for ENB (the one you linked first)

-RS Light Color (adjust lighting to suit Relighting Skyrim)

Then just use the load order provided on that page to get it all squared away. :)

ELE - Spell and Torch Lighting.esp
- Relighting Skyrim - Dragonborn.esp
- Relighting Skyrim - Hearthfire.esp
- Relighting Skyrim - Dawnguard.esp
- Relighting Skyrim - Update.esp
- RelightingSkyrim.esp or RelightingSkyrim-NoScript or RelightingSkyrim-ExteriorsOnly.esp
- ELE - RS Light Color
- ELE - FX Emittance.esp
- ELE - Interior Lighting.esp
- ELE - Weathers.esp
- ELE - Weather Addition.esp

I've recently switched back to similar after briefly returning to ELFX (like an abused wife). I use ELE Lite default version with Relighting Skyrim non-JiT. I still find that too bright f so I also use Darkness - Vanilla Lighting Tweaks which seems very compatible. And Purity by Laast is taking care of outdoor business quite handsomely too.

That combo seems a fair bit less spiky performance-wise than say, ELFX or RLO and CoT.

Are all compatible with COT ?

As long as you don't mix interior and exterior stuff.  So use all the default settings for COT interiors, and don't use any of the ELE exterior/weather modules and you should be alright.

Many Thanks! ^_^

so if I understand correctly.. this must not use it  ELE Interior Lighting Merged

right..? :)
