Jmathers Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Hey guys I been trying to export my npc's facegen I am using CK, through MO and it's not doing it, no confirmation window, nothing. its as if the feature isn't in the the creation kit I even looked in CK for the option some where on the hot bar or in the menu. with no avail. is there another way or maybe another thing i can try that doesn't involve hitting Cntrl + F4 while having the npc selected in CK some said. I have to convert the file to a esm, others said I don't, so i tried both to no luck. so I am out of idea's of how i could possibly export the facegen. I tryed Wyrne and allsorts. Any help is greatly appricated.
Guest Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Hi @Jmathers, I had a similar problem while running CK under MO. To solve it I just moved the esp in the main Skyrim folder, run CK from here, export the FaceGen, and then move the meshes and textures back to the mod folder in MO. This was my quick solution. Then I found a way to do it while using CK from Mod Organizer. But sadly I do not remember how I made it work.
Jmathers Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 won't i need all the other mods and such. if i'm doing it outside MO. installed on the skyrim folder?
Guest endgameaddiction Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I don't recommend ever running CK through MO. I did that and I had a hard time finding my mod. It's best to just run it normal. Just make sure to back up your files in your data folder if you are going to be adding meshes, scripts, textures etc... and remove them to repack them in your mod for MO installing. Yeah you would need what ever other mods you are planning to merg it to. You just have to remove everything you installed when your done that is required for you mod.
Slammer64 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Jmathers, make sure that your NPC is set NOT to use "Is CharGen Face Preset", this will stop all FaceGen exports.
Jmathers Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 @Slammer64 Is CharGen Face Present - is Not Ticked. the only ticked options are "essential" and "Unqiue" @endgameaddiction. i have no problems with CK through MO, except for this. everything else works just fine.
Minoumimi Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 make sure you are in Actor<actor section before choosing npc or it won't export
Jmathers Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 @Minoumimi ok, I'll give that a try it woked! lmao! Thank you Minoumimi
Minoumimi Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Your Welcome =3 I had the exact issue had taken 1-2 month break and was like Gawwwsh im sure it was ctrl f4 im not THAT crazy Crazy Yes no doubt but nununununu and ya lol figured hmm well i have to be in proper section to do NEW so maybe Also i actually just realised this week the problem to my nekochan follower and mostly all my summons in my race.. For some reason my facegens never export with the proper Texture paths Which causes Neck seam issues once people change armors or alter the char in anyway it is either simply missing the textures/ or some had completely the bad path to female folder when the original is clearly using textures from my race folder I came to realise this when i made my Race OILY version had forgot i had to also make my facegen mesh oily to realise they all white =3 So if ever you get some face discolor search no more =3 Well it can be a racemenu problem too but most cases is facegens, i probably have to setup something in CK and well no idea
Owrom Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 make sure you are in Actor<actor section before choosing npc or it won't export this! drove me nuts (never do a 2 year skyrim break, you'll forget about everything!)
Rayblue Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 The better alternative is to use Racemenu, export the facegen, then rename the .DDS and the .NIF files to the corresponding PRID of the NPC who would be using the facegen. Just make sure the weight and the skin texture is the same as the target NPC.
