shunter Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I really want to go back to Skyrim but I've ran outta ideas. I've pretty much roleplayed as everything there is to be, even using Sexlab and quest mods. Do you guys have any ideas you think no one else ever thought of to roleplay in Skyrim? Below is a small story of a playthrough that ended a couple of months ago.I had a somewhat creative idea (which I'm sure other people already thought of) for one of my last playthroughs; my female Imperial character was an assassin/thief (yes, cliche-ish, I know), who saw how devastate Cyrodiil was because of the great war and became a bounty hunter who wasn't associated with the Dark Brotherhood, for people who didn't quite like their methods or didn't want any links with them. She also began stealing from her contracts because why the hell not? So anyway, after over a decade of murdering people and pulling off heists all by herself, and becoming a master assassin/thief/mercenary, the Imperial guard finally get a grip of her identity and FINALLY arrest her. So then after a long time in jail she gets an offer from someone important in the Empire; someone who requests her skills and ships her off to Skyrim to infiltrate the Stormcloack rebellion and feed them important information. However, this is off the record, and the group behind this is a little bit... sadistic, so they created a few rules on what she could or could not do in Skyrim. In theory, Skyrim would be her playground, as they made it very clear that they did not care if she stole (so long as she did not steal from the Empire or its allies), but that was quickly proven to be false, as she read the first letter handed to her by an Imperial courier. She had to abide to several rules, some of which included she would kill targets that were designated by them. In other words, if she ran into some bandits on the road, she would have to think of some other 'alternative' methods of how to deal with them, even though she could be done with them in less than a few seconds. That, amongst other rules. When my character's story ends, she finds out that the group of people that are giving her orders are in Skyrim (hence why how they could be watching her so closely and tracking her progress so quickly) by joining the Dark Brotherhood (ironically enough, as an order from one of these from the group himself, arguing that she could improve some of her assassination skills since she had spent so much time in jail) and tracking down each person who ordered a contract, since she figured out she wasn't the only assassin they used or the first they 'hired'... and bam, she kills them all. End of story.
markdf Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I roleplay my characters as an apprentice blacksmith who explores Skyrim to find raw materials, and to test out the forged items. Sidequests are like a service to the community. Naturally, I've made very little progress on the main questline. :-)
Guest Comrade DR. MAHUJ DIK Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I have a list of characters that i want tocreate but dont have time or cant decide between them, Ill post one. Build name: The dark vindicator backstory: There was a Imperial boy that uppon birth was given to the vigilantes to be raised. Since a young age he was trained to hunt daedra and other kinds of "abominations", untill one day when he was 15 he and a group of vigilantes were sent to investigate rumors of a werewolf pack. He discovered the whole village where made of werewolfs, but they had a code. 1)They would never hunt sentient beings 2)any of them that couldnt controll itself would be chained in the tavern basement during the night untill it learns tho controll itself 3) any child born with the gift of hircine would be trained since its birth to control itself When he discovered they meant no harm, he wanted to go away and leave them to heir lives, but another vigilante discovered the village secret and tghe vigilantes burned the village and killed everyone thast tried to escape. When he asked why they did this the answer was: "they are a spawn of hircine, an aboination, and must be killed". That was the first of many atrocities he saw the vigilantes doing. One day when he was 24 he as sent to investigate a village that could have vampires on it, but he didnt find anything. just before leaving a huge band of trolls atacked the village and they couldnt defend themselves, he tried to help the villagers but there was to many trolls. Suddenly a group of skeletons appeared led by the blacksmith, he was the vampire. Also the tavern keeper shapeshifted into a werewolf and both atackedthe trolls and protected the village. After the trolls were killed he went to the balcksmth and asked why he was helping the village, the answer was: "because its my home, I do it since the oblivion crisis, when I turned. being a vampire or using necromancy doesnt make you evil. Power doesnt corrupt people, people corrupt the power. Bad people can do good things for a evil objective, the same way good things can be made through dark ways". After this he gave up being a vigilante and decided to live in the village. He married the tavern keper sister and had a daghter but died in the labor. One day, when the PC was 13 a large group of vigilantes went to the village because they heard that they were giving shelter to a vampire and if hey didnt turned it in the village would face the consequences. When he heard this the blacksmith turned himself in asking them to spare the village. The vigilantes burned him on a stake. Unluckly the leader of the vigilantes group recognised the PC father and decided to execute him for threason and ordered the village to be burned by sheltering a vampire and a traitor. The PC father ordered the to the villagers to run and charged the vigiantes. The PC uncle grabbed her turned int werewolf an took her and led part of the villagers to a hidden cave. They hid for 3 days and then went back to the village, it was burned to the ground and half the villagers were dead. They rebuild the village and tried to live heir lifes but since that day the village hattyed the vigilantes. When the PC was 19, she heard the leader of that vigilantes group was promoted and was in skyrim and left the village looking for revenge. The dark vindicator is a dark, but not evil character and will use any means to get the power to get its revenge. Shes helpfull and want to help people, but is merciless and cruel to those who doublecross her or make innocent people suffer, she doesnt nescesarily kills them, but prefer to give them a fate worse than death (if you want slavery or soulgems ovens thats ok since its only used on "bad" people). Shes not necessarily a werewolf, her uncle was the only werewolf in the family and he may or not have turned her, but shes ok with werewolf, vampires aand daedra since theyre not causing problem to other people. skills(vanilla): one handed, sword dual wield when facing multiple enemiesnor when its not using magic, sword an spell or unnarmed light armor(shes not a sneak character but a agile one) destruction summoning (especially necromancy, but she also summon daedra) restoration (survivability and heal undead) illusion (she likes toplay with her enemies minds) alteration enchanting smithing skills(Perma): one handed, sword dual wield when facing multiple enemiesnor when its not using magic, sword an spell or claws(she was trained by her uncle that was a werewolf) light armor(shes not a sneak character but a agile one) destruction summoning (especially necromancy, but she also summon daedra) restoration (survivability, heal undead, but shell focus on curses ) illusion (she likes toplay with her enemies minds, so she uses both phantoms and controll) alteration (lots of fun and usefull spells) enchanting smithing
Kendo 2 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Here's a play-through concept I enjoyed. 'Paladin of Arkay' (He's the good guy and stomps out evil wherever he finds it.) Imperial race because of the bonuses and for Stats I pretty much split the points between Stamina and Health equally until later levels when I started adding them to Health and Magicka. Primary Skills: Heavy Armor, Block, One-Handed, Restoration, Smithing, Speechcraft. Secondary Skills: Archery, Alchemy, Sneak, *Conjuration, Enchanting. * on the Conjuration tree I don't take any of the summoning perks, only the ones dealing with filling soul gems and fighting summoned/undead creatures. The only 'necromancy' spells I take are the Raise/Reanimate ones, and that is to prevent Necromancers and vampires from using bodies as troops against me. Backstory: The son of wealthy merchants, he knew that his ancestors were once great and noble fighting men in Cyrodiil. The distinguished themselves during the Oblivion Crisis and the Great War. He lived in the capitol, worked in the family shop and spent his spare time in taverns and basic martial training. He didn't have any grand plans or ideas of great adventures. He was set to inherit the family business and there was a girl he liked. Basically an average guy with an average life. All of that changed when his parents were arrested on a trumped up smuggling charge. Everything in their store was confiscated as 'evidence' and their gold assets were seized. Our hero was cast out on the street, homeless an penniless. He knew the charges were a sham and he tried to reason with the local officials. Nothing worked and his parents were sentenced to rot in a dungeon. He was vocal about the injustice when a merchant competitor occupied his parent's store and gloated in public about how his 'master' arranged the whole thing. Our hero was determined and he confronted the merchant sword-in-hand. The merchant was a coward and told all to save his own life. His master was a member of the Elder Council and worse, an ancient vampire. Our hero didn't know that some of his ancestors were members of the Order of the Virtuous Blood and ruthless vampire hunters. This ancient and politically powerful vampire was simply settling an old score. Our hero struck a devil's bargain with the merchant. Both would remain silent about the other. Our hero was mad with rage, but he plotted an planned. He took a menial job and hid in plain sight. He got word to his farther of what was happening and his father responded with directions to a secret cache of armor and vampire slaying weapons. Though the vampire was powerful, it was also overly confident and didn't take any precautions. Our hero waited and was finally able to sneak into the vampire's town home and slay it while it slept. He had his revenge but now he was wanted for murder. The Imperial officials did a massive cover up to hide the fact that the Elder Council member was a vampire. They claimed our hero was a criminal and the cowardly merchant gave false testimony that he witnessed the murder. So our hero fled, labeled a renegade and murderer. He ran, but the Empire pursued him. On the pretext they were hunting down the murderer of an Elder Council member, they poured resources into killing our hero and keeping the whole vampire affair a secret. Constantly on the run, our hero made his way towards the three corners border of Cyrodiil, Hammerfell and Skyrim. And it was there where he was finally caught. Luckily, the soldiers were on a different mission and they didn't know who he was. They were after someone else but they accused him of being a spy and a Stormcloak sypathizer. He didn't know who the Stormcloaks were but he remained silent. That was when the Empire called him renegade a second time and their 'justice' would be swift. There would be no escape this time... After the dragon attacked he fled into the Imperial side of the keep by mistake, but the soldier there freed him. Once he made his escape the soldier told him he should go to Solitude and speak with General Tulius. The soldier said he would vouch for our hero. Not knowing what to do or who to believe, he made his way south, back towards the border with Hammerfell. In the town of Falkreath he met a priest of Arkay and he decided then that he would be a vampire hunter and champion of good. Once Dawnguard started this character really came into his own combat-wise. I had made it a point to toughen him up with skills and equipment meant to deal with undead and summoned creatures. An Amulet of Disease Resistance is a must for this type of character, along with weapons that deal fire damage and turning undead. For role playing he always had an Amulet of Arkay in his possession and the only altar he used was Arkay's. And I never stole anything or murdered NPCs, unless the Dawnguard questline called for it.
