Serious problem with my game

So I've been having issues with mainly sexlab/loverslab mods recently.

Sometimes, animations are really slow. They never progress. For instance, after opening a cursed chest, I've found that the only thing that helps for some reason to help progress stages is opening MCM and opening something before backing out. I have to do this a few times.

Perhaps it's because I might have too many ll mods, about 13, but anyhow...

Other than slow animations, often I get the message "sexlab animation failed to start".

Except today, it was too weird.. I tried to use SL aroused redux (hold V) to masturbate, and after getting a fail to start message (but still going on with the animation anyways), my character fing teleported into the middle of nowhere, two miles above ground (Almost directly north of the western watchtower and almost directly west of whiterun), random items that looked like garlic apparently came with me, falling alongside. My hair was also stretched a few kilometers long, but that might just because I use an HDT ponytail.

So after falling for about 5 seconds and having weird screen glitches, I finally got back into whiterun to masturbate.

Well, I quit the game right after that anyways...

Would appreciate some troubleshooting...

So... my Papyrus log is 20 kb large.. But here is the relevant portion that happened (in the past 30 seconds of wtf moment)

(Actually, does anyone also know WHY sometimes I have press esc to allow animations and things to progress?)

Your load order would more useful than that papyrus log.... what version of sexlab are you using, and what version of SKSE you have installed....

13 LL mods isn't "too many".  I'm running over 20 if you include Nude Creatures, various DD mods, Prison Overhaul, Animal Mansion,  Radiant, Working Girl, etc.  Sometimes the dialog takes extra seconds to process, but I don't have any of the issues mentioned by the OP.

I think the error message "animation failed to start" should be the big clue, here.  It could be load order, it could be the version of FNIS and whether you've run "Generate FNIS Behavior for Users" properly, or even whether you've added any memory expansion with SKSE.  More info needed.

This thread would probably get more attention over in Troubleshooting, but if you repost please include load order, your machine RAM specs, your SKSE.ini and whatever Papyrus log you have.

> does your set-up work well except for Sexlab? You said "mainly" - but what does that mean? Does your FPS rate go down when you change view into wide areas, or when effects like fog are being calculated?

> are you using MO? If not, it is hard(er) so say if there is conflict, out-dated mods, missing files / requirements e.g.

> did you do install & uninstall a lot, without properly deinstalling the mods? Do those errors remain to occur for new games and old saves?

As stated before, the error could be caused by to heavy script or mod load, or your machine being unable to process them as they are supposed to be. In doubt, go for Mod Organizer, use the Saveclean tool, take out what you don't really need. Trial and error is always a viable way to proceed.

I'll never forget the very first time I ran SaveCleaner inside of MO and saw something like 138 orphaned scripts.  I was like "NO WONDER!" :)

My normal troubleshooting routine includes:  "SaveCleaner -> WryeBash -> LOOT -> FNIS" and that will (usually) solve any problems I have with mods not working or with crashes.

At the start of animations, I've sometimes been randomly teleported to cell 0,0 (outside Whiterun) in midair, too. I think it means the game tries to reset your character cause something screwed up. Hair stretching in all directions only happens when you have HDT hair like Meriada's installed, so I suppose it's a collision problem. It usually sorts itself out if you wait a bit. Even the stretched hair will eventually shrink back to where it belongs.

That error I know to well. I find it to happen together with heavy FPS drop, in some cases even CTDs. That's why I guess that the machine is under too heavy load, therefore unable to move the characters directly into the right position. I surely am no expert, but the loss of FPS makes me quite certain that it is not a problem caused by sexlab itself, but by conflicts / script load / machine-set-up problems (like ATI and PhysX effects).

No matter, that still does not explain why the animations fail to start in the first place. Like stated before, one should go for MO - reset FNIS - check dual sheathe (in case) - check load order e.g.

Its already been hinted at, but it could be hardware related. Allot of people think you build your computer, or order it and that's it. I am a Computer Tech and FPS drop is a sure sign of something not working right. I good reason to see a FPS drop is heat. As your GPU or CPU gets to hot it gets throttled down in speed, aka a drop in frame rate and becoming sluggish and or slow. So why is this happening. When was the last time you cleaned out your computer? Desktop or Notebook/Laptop they have to be cleaned out to keep them operating at peak efficiency. Dust is the enemy and I can tell you that it the number one reason why computers die. It the main reason Laptops die, especially laptops. They are small and everything is very tightly placed and there is just not enough room in them to move enough air around. In a laptop if you feel the air vents when its turned on and under load and you don't feel hot air blowing out at a fairly good clip you are in trouble. It means the cooling system is clogged. Laptop cooling systems work like a radiator on a car. The have whats called heat pipes and they move the heat from the CPU and GPU to a small finned array that a fan blows air across and it cools the fluid in the pipe. It then returns to get reheated again in a kind of internal rain cycle. A very cool system that has been used for many years now. But it is that finned array gets clogged with lint and the air can't move out of the laptop and it starts to overheat, so the logic circuits tell the system to throttle the GPU and then the CPU to save them from frying out. But this will only go so far. Eventually the system will fail do to heat. In most cases its much like the Xbox red ring of death. The systems gets hot enough to soften the solder holding the chips down and when the system cools they shrink and pop off the solder. Once this happens its all over. You are looking replacing the motherboard or the whole laptop. The best way to keep your Laptop clean is compressed air in a can. A few short bursts backward through the cooling vents will dislodge the lint and break it up so it can be flushed out the vents. Also using a laptop stand or just elevating the back side of the laptop so air can get underneath it will go along way to help. Also keep a laptop off the carpeting, furniture, blankets. If you want to use it in bed put a large book under it so it can breath.

Now a desktop is a very different animal. Its big and has allot of airspace inside, but they get just as clogged as a laptop does. But they are much easier to take care of. So to clean a desktop computer right you need to take it someplace you don't mind allot of dust and lint getting blown around. Outside on a porch or a garage is a safe bet. Or you can do it in place at your desk, but I recommend having a vacuum cleaner nearby to suck up the dust-bunnies that come out. There are two things that need to be cleaned in the desktop case. The CPU cooler and the GPU cooler. If you open your computer case and look inside you will most likely be surprised at the amount of dust and lint that is in there. The CPU cooler looks like a fan mounted on top of a finned piece of aluminum. You may even see a layer of lint and dust laying right across the fins under the fan. Use compressed air to blow all of that off. Now move to your graphics card. Depending on the type of cooler your GPU has it will either be a blower style or a style that blows air across the fins and into the case. Those are easier to clean. The blower types act a bit more like a laptop cooler and have to have air blown backward from the exit point of the blower into the computer case. This will force all the dust and lint into the main compartment of the computer case and then you just blow that away. You should see any FPS slowdowns go away after that.

Another thing that can cause a slow down is the changing of the seasons. If you built your computer say in the autumn and used it all winter and now are seeing a slowdown it could be because of seasonal change. As temps go up in the spring the computer will naturally run warmer. So keeping your room at a comfy but cool enough temp will help. And during the summer you need to be even more careful. Hot days and no A/C can really have an impact on a computer. If the room it is in is hot so is the air inside the computer and as it gets heated and blown out it can get sucked back in and reheated again and again. This will slow it down as well.

And last but not least of all, make sure your computer is not running any programs that do not need to run while you are playing your games. If you are a streamer than you are going to have to live with the slowdowns, but if you keep Windows in tune and keep things like antivirus programs in a game friendly mode that will free up resources needed by the game. Also make sure to put Windows Update in the fully off mode while you are gaming. If its installing updates in the background while you are playing a game you will see it impact your FPS. Just be sure to turn it back on afterward. Microsoft needs to build a gaming mode into Windows update so that it doesn't do this at the wrong time. I have been playing away on a game and all of a sudden my game CTDs so it can reboot my computer or tell me to do it. Not fun. I hope this helps from a more technical side of things. Yes all these things could be making your game totally weird out the way you are describing it. Have fun.

No, my FPS is usually not a problem.

Well, mainly, because I'm actually unsure what the problem is. Although since I had "sexlab animation failed to start" messages, I'm guessing it's all Sexlab, but I can't know if it's script load or something.

I'm actually pretty confident I have correct load orders, updated mods and such.

I'm also pretty (very) confident that I'm uninstalling things correctly, although I do unin/inst very often. I don't have problems with residual errors, at least that I can tell.

My only problem (symptom) I can ever find out, is that animations are slow, don't progress, etc.

I use NMM and I do saveclean pretty often.

Y'know what, I'll just give my SL load order. Top down.

These are basically what I suspect to be capable of causing the most script load out of SL related mods.
