Gᴀʟᴠᴀɴɪᴢᴇ Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Hello everyone! It has been a very long time since I needed support, but I am finally stuck! So after a extremely long time modding, I finally got a stable consistent game, but now I am having a very big issue. I have solid frames outdoors (25 - 30 FPS) and even better frames in houses, stores, ect (35 - 50 FPS) BUT once I enter into a cave, or ruin, or something of that sort, I suddenly drop down to 14 and even lower frames, as time goes on in that cave, I notice that it will slowly decline and get even lower. Now, this is a very odd issue, and I have absolutely no clue how to fix it. So I tried a few things, for starters, I removed all the Cave and Ruin texture mods I have, I also removed the ENB particle patch as I read somewhere that might be issue, I even went as far as removing my ENB altogether, but NONE of these steps even helped in the slightest! I am beyond stuck and have no clue what is going on, I assume it is a simple fix, but one I don't know. So to help, I manually logged all of the textures I installed while I was going through the modding process, this is every texture/mesh mod I installed, the order I installed it, and some notes to go along with what I was doing at the time. This is NOT my load order, I can post that too if anyone wants to have a look, but for now, these are the textures... darkconsole Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 For me, it has always been because of the fog/dust inside dungeons. There are a few mods in Nexus that claim to fix it by doing retarded things like making the textures transparent, but the polys are still being rendered so the result is minimal at best in my experience.

Hmm... I'll look into it, thanks for your response!

DomDate Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I don't know if this is any use at all, as you seem quite aware of what you are doing... Things I can think of (from playing in CK) that exist differently in those locations are: lighting templates, atmospheric sounds, visual atmosphere fx and location information. So mods directly affecting those conditions would be my primary suspects.

Any is helpful, I am almost convinced it has nothing to do with my texture/meshes and that rather it is something directly affecting the core of the caves themselves, perhaps enemies, or something along those lines, I will play more with what you recommended tomorrow.
Anatriax Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 What lighting mods do you use? RLO? ELFX? Relighting Skyrim? I've found that RLO is not only the most realistic (in my eyes), but it's also the most performance friendly. Also, the mod I linked is designed to work with RLO, so I don't know if it will have the same effect with other lighting mods. Also, I use Pure Weathers, not CoT. That might be another reason I'm slightly more performance friendly. CoT seems to be loaded with a ton of edits and scripts, while Pure Weathers is based off of vanilla scripting.
Ashkandii Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Sometimes its not Textures that drop your games FPS RLO/ELFX has no impact (Barely) in game since it kinda just changes the lightning and only added some in some area very small change nothing drastic. I only get FPS Drops because of the amount of NPCs in my area. Also if your using anything that Adds HDT to items that NPCs have acsess too would recommend not using it. (HDT Cloaks/HDT Weapons) But if it is a Texture issue then it has to be a GPU related issue. Try lowering the resolution. if your using 1080p use 900p etc If not a GPU issue then remove the mod that alters cave textures, then enter a cave and see if anything changes. Note: if you have "Revenge of enemies - Sands of Time" mod that basically spawns (shit ton) NPCs to areas causing FPS drops.
swmas Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I remember reading a similar post here and it turned out it was the skeleton for the enemies. So it may be the skeleton for the enemies inside the dungeons that slow stuff down.
haraldgoldspur Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I had similar problems especially in places with blue lights like WolfSkull cave. I read somewhere that the monster options for the Xpmse 2.50 skeleton may cause issues so I reinstalled my body set up without these options ticked and got better fps. I also found a little ap on nexus that I start before loading skyrim, sorry cannot tell you the mod ref but an fps search on nexus should find it. After doing these two things I got enough of a boost to finish my quest and once back outside in Skyrim my fps was fine. Have been in a few caves etc since and still get a drop but not enough to stop me progressing through. Hope this helps. Sorry should have read without these options ticked!!
haraldgoldspur Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Hi, I have attached the fps background booster I use and it has a text note included to explain how to use. Hope this helps.
iuziu Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 i had actually the same issue with FPS Dropping in Caves. the post with deactivating monster skeletons have helped me. thumbs up
azmodan22 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Update you XPMS skeleton extended. The v 2.22 version had a problem with draugur missing a leg bone. This causes HDT to go haywire. more info here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/40641-severe-fps-drop-in-certain-dungeons/
