Like the title says Ubisoft is looking to redeem themselves with their next AC title Victory after all the  "issues" Unity had but the trillion dollar question is CAN THEY DO IT?

What do you guys think will they redeem themselves with AC Victory or continue to dig their grave with another Unity repeat?

I think it's nothing more than a PR statement; even if the game will be functional, it won't "redeem" them.

They need to show some respect for their consumers for that, and I don't think whatever eldritch creature they've conjured to make their business decisions can even comprehend the concept.

So no, I don't think they'll redeem themselves with their next game - or, indeed, any of their games in the next two years at the least.

How they treat their consumers aside if they made an full length AC game featuring Shao Jun's story in China they would redeem themselves somewhat in my eyes (assuming it was playable right out of the gate).

I thought Unity biggest issue was its technical issues. Bugs, glitched textures, and slow down.

Micro-transaction is ugly, but it is what it is.

It set its visual pretty high, and it plays similar to most recent Assassin's Creed game.

There's no reason the next one can't be "competent" at the very least assuming it fixes the technical aspects.

Okay Ubisoft, you want to know how to "redeem" yourselves with the next Ass's Creed?  How about you try reducing the draw calls to something that DirectX 11/12 is capable of handling and make your game actually utilize more than one CPU core.  Then we'll talk.

I boycot Ubisoft for years already and Uplay NEVER they in same league as EA which i also boycot for years terible publishers and game destroyers plus DRM evilness no thanks.

Can't speak for everyone but personally I've never boycotted a company and never plan to. Unity had issues, yes, most games that come out in this day and age do and they're either fixed or left to wallow forever. While Unity may have been a miss, the next one might be fantastic (Shao Jun would be too cool).

My SO has boycotted anything with EA on it and while she's saved some money and frustrations, she's missed out on some great games that are actually fun and enjoyable too. I may be too forgiving of terrible company practices and too willing to overlook flaws to play a game, but I consider myself a gamer, not a protester.

I also don't but Speshul Deeluke Editions, just more money to spend on nonsense I don't need, like food.

As long as games like Unity don't become a constant thing, Ubisoft is already forgiven as far as I'm concerned..

Ubisoft, redeemed? Pfft, they'll be standing next to EA on the express elevator to hell.

I don't actively boycott their games, they just don't publish anything that interests me. Same with EA.

Victory is going to be set in London just not sure in which time frame. Hopefully after Victory they will do Shao's story.

LOL, That would actually be fun to stalk Jack the ripper and assassinate him. The story for Jack was that he suddenly vanished so making the reason for his disappearance an assassination is plausible. :D

What do you guys think will they redeem themselves with AC Victory or continue to dig their grave with another Unity repeat?

The milking of and build up of issues with this series has been going on for a few years now and Unity seemed to be the one that made the more diehard and sychophantic fans of this series notice that. However, we know most of those same people who complained about Unity likely still bought Rogue and will go on to get Victory.

Assassins Creed is the Call of Duty of Ubisoft. They are going to release one every year or six months with the same formula just set in a different time space. They couldn't pay me to play their games. On the plus side, I don't play just one series of games. I don't need COD or AC. I've got a lot of games I'm looking forward to getting this year like Batman Arkham Knight, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, GTA5 on PC, Halo 5, Star Wars Battlefront. So no, unless Ubisoft shapes up and gives the game more time I think Ubisoft will continue to be more villified.

EDIT: With all that said though, people are going to go out and buy these AC games no matter what therefore supporting Ubisoft.

I'll Admit I bought Rogue but it played BEAUTIFULLY compared to Unity even after update 1.5. If Ubisoft copies what they did with rogue Victory could be a good game.

AC is definitely in the same category as COD, and Battlefield not going to deny that.

If EA had NOT put out Battlefield Hardline I would have to disagree with you but just in the last year Battlefield has become the COD and AC of EA. I could maybe forgive the disaster that was Battlefield 4 since I enjoyed the heck out of Battlefield 3 but BF4 is my last BF game. I am looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront very much but it's with a huge weight on my shoulders because I want this game to be a success (not money wise) but a game most people will enjoy when they play it.

I saw the trailers for BF Hardline and laughed myself almost to dead. SW battlefront NEEDS to be great to keep Star Wars going strong especially given how uneasy fans seem to be about the 3 new movies.

I was so hopeful for Unity after Black Flag. They went in a new direction with Black Flag, and it was quite enjoyable only to go straight back to the boring tried and tested formula in Unity. I'll probably play Victory regardless, being a Brit and a fan of the series but I am not expecting much more than the same old thing.

That's why I want Shao's story. If you have watched Assassin's Creed Embers you get to see how she fights and I think with her unique weapons like senbon, a hidden boot blade, and a very acrobatic fighting style it would be a chance for Ubisoft to really show what they can do.

Sadly that's not going to happen. It's business if a product makes you money (which AC does) you keep making that product for as long as you can. I will admit they need to step it up a little seeing as each AC game is roughly the same just a different era, different MC, and a few new weapons or combo kills.

Yea as long as people keep buying them, and they do, they'll keep churning them out until the well runs dry. I am a sucker for the series, so I am definitely part of the problem, lol.

I can't say I'm not part of the problem either I keep buying them. Although, Unity did make me think twice about buying another AC game.  :dodgy:
