monsta88 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I don't know what can cause this, after a while my lvl 72 character playthrough suddenly starts to CTD when I press Quicksave or change area (autosave). I'm always using LOOT and FNIS whenever I install a mod. I tried to unistall the latest installed mods and cleared my savegame, but nothing seems to help, after a while, it starts doing it again. Only going back to an older savegame helps, temporarily, but then it is CTD time again. Also, I noticed that the game forgets my showracemenu settings, I don't now if this is a useful information or not. Did anyone have similar experience maybe?
guk Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Bethesda games are known for crappy auto/quicksave mechanics, wether it's Fallout or Skyrim. First install this mod: Autosave Manager Then turn off autosaves, and move quicksave to a key you'll never press by accident. Alternatively you can also use the console with the command save "your savegame name"to specify names for manual saves. Quotation marks are only needed when there's a space in the name. Like /save "Alduin Dead" so you'll always recognize important savegames.
Effie Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I used to have this problem 1) Before I did the skse memory patch thing, 2) Whenever I steam my game on steam. So maybe it's because of something heavy going on and it isn't allocating memory or something enough? I don't know much about it, but maybe my experience can give some kind of hint haha ^^'
monsta88 Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 Thanks for the answers, I think I've found the problem. It seems I unistalled something I shouldn't have, namely the SOS. I reinstalled it and since then I didn't have a single crash. That being said, those savegame advices sound very good.
