Nergui Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I couldn't find any infomation on this so... When starting a new character using the vanilla character generation (cart ride, etc), is it better to wait until exiting the cave to enable these mods, or is it ok to have the running from the start - hdtHighHeel.esmSexLab.esmDevious Devices - Assets.esmSexLabAroused.esmZaZAnimationPack.esmDevious Devices - Integration.esmDevious Devices - Expansion.esmDevious Deviants.espCaptured Dreams.espDeviously Cursed Loot.esp Or only some of them?
pyrosushi Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Ok to have them from the start. Better from the start anyways since it will get everything ready at a better startup time.
chajapa Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I use MO and have a character creation profile. It's vanilla.... period. I'll activate a race mod if I want to create a character of a non-vanilla race (Succubus, Lunari, Ningheim, etc), but I stay as vanilla as I can until I exit the cave and escape Helgen. Transfer that character to a profile I have set up with whatever mods I want to use in that profile. Seems to work out for me so far.
velvetsanity Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I prefer to enable them from the start, but use LAL to give them a few minutes to initialize so that the initialization scripts can't bog things down (if things bog down too much, Havok gets wonky, which can result in the cart bouncing and tumbling in the air.) Of course, I'm running over 200 mods, several of which seem to have some pretty heavy initialization going on.
shadow866 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Use them from start but...Use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9557/?(alternate start) Its a small room with nothing else but you. and it should be easier for all mods to load in there.
WaxenFigure Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Another alternate start option is Skyrim Unbound http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39945/?
userdude Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 So... Which one is better ? Alternate start , or Skyrim unbound ...
WaxenFigure Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 So... Which one is better ? Alternate start , or Skyrim unbound ... It's like CBBE vs UNP, you're going to get people on both sides saying their favorite is best. I used Live Another Life for quite a while and have just now tried Unbound, both have a lot to recommend them.
milasian Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Personally I prefer alt. start as you get several RP ways to start the game. Also unbound is now blocked on nexus apparently, but here is the direct link off the steam page for it http://www.chinagreenelvis.com/gaming/mods/skyrim/skyrim_unbound/
Zhukov Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Both of them are ok. But if you want to create a character that is not the Dragonborn, go with Skyrim Unbound. It allows you to deactivate all dragon related encounters, quests and abilities, so you are a just a normal hero, and not the mighty Dragonborn.
