Leelok Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Soooo The day before yesterday, I tried to install this new mod. But at the same time, I had SMIM, Static Mesh Improvement. Asked me to overwrited the .nif I had with it. At first I thought I was fine.. But then I thought maybe it would conflict ? Anyways... I started up skyrim. Crashed on Load up with SKSE. Then I uninstalled SMIM. Still crashed. Then Uninstalled Tamriel Reloaded HD. Still crashed. What gives ? It worked Completely fine before that. I was playing it the same day without a hitch xD;Edit.. Im loading a previous back up.. Hopefully it'll help in the meantime.. but yea.. Its just.. weird.
PsychoMachina Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 If I'm not mistaken, TR HD overwrites certain SMIM textures. There's even a separate parallax rope texture for SMIM ropes. Crashing when firsting using TR HD can be expected. Try loading a save where you are indoors then load the save you want to use, that worked for me. Crashing even after removing SMIM and TR? Check that you don't have anything that requires either of those. To be honest, I prefer the mountain textures that comes with SMIM, the one's from TR HD looks 'inconsistent'.
Ky Kiske Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Oh boy I was about to install TR HD I also have SMIM now you made me think about it xD, I'll let you know if I succeded or failed the worst thing that can happen it's the both of us asking for help lol. Edit: Installed it and could play even with SMIMs esp files, installed via NMM wanted to see which files it was going to overwrite, maybe something went wrong on your install.
JRCosta Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Did you solve the issue, Leelok? I'm tempted to install the 1k version just to give a fresh look at my game, but this error you reported makes me wait some more, as I have SMIM and a bunch of other texture packs installed. Are you also using any of the Tamriel Reloaded optional patches? There are some other mods that require SMIM, run Wrye Bash to see if you still have leave something that depend on SMIM. @Ky Kiske: does it worth the install? What file size (1k, 2k, 4k) are you using?
PsychoMachina Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 SMIM (full) + Tamriel Reloaded HD (4k)(SMIM Mountain Mesh/3D Rope/Realistic Water 2 patches) + CGI ENB 262

carolight Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Hello, I recently installed Tamriel releaded HD along with Project Parallax remasted, with SMIM & Realvison ENB 265a, both are the 1k version and still look great, the 4k versions seem to lag for me. Did you installed the SMIM compatibly patch?, it is stated as a must have even if you don't use SMIM.
PsychoMachina Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Same setup, but swapped CGI ENB with Elder Blood. I installed them because I am using SMIM.

And drop into negative with an ENB activated I want a new computer *sniff*
JRCosta Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I've installed yesterday and play as usual (1-2K full install, a couple of SMIM patches) without full city touring; so far, Solitude looks truly gorgeous, Riverwood looks very good too and I really like the rock walls in caves, they have a very natural feel; the downside so far is Whiterun, but I have Beautiful Whiterun installed too, so could be something on my end. No fps hits, play naturally with 40-60 fps and my rig is medium, Naturalistic ENB running. Didn't have any problems with the installation, so the OP must have something messed up in the SMIM uninstall. @PsychoMachina: beautiful, I don't like ENB too dark or cinematic, but those shots are really something!

Thank you. Have you tried JK's Skyrim? He also has separate mod pages for each city and town. Even though I can run TR HD with SMIM and ENB, I can experience the occasional crashing when going outside. So far this only happens in the towns (Riverwood and Ivarstead). I think it's because I'm using JK's Skyrim and the Populated Skyrim mods which adds more NPCs to just about everywhere.

No, I didn't have JK's town installed, but I have read in the TR HD message board something about that, someone having CTD with both mods installed. Have you tried switch the load order?
JRCosta Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Some screens with 1K-2K textures and Naturalistic ENB in Solitude: Markhart looks like a new place, love the rock textures here: Riften gets a greater abandoned/rotten feeling. And the Hearthfire houses get a new look too. Not for everyone's taste - I dislike some textures although they make perfect sense, but overall the fresh look is very welcome and the author did an impressive job.
PsychoMachina Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I'm going to have to check those cities. I've been doing doing a lot of sight-seeing like some tourist.
Mister X Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I want to have a beautiful Skyrim, too *whining*. I just could get envious, seeing all those nice screens, and I'm hanging here with my Geforce GTX 560M, 8GB RAM and an 2.2MHz processor . Speaking: 25-30fps with only Tamriel Reloaded HD 1k, and SMIM lite, no ENB.
