Riley Serrano Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Hi there everyone, I'm hoping the LL crew can help me out of this tough spot I'm in. I've only recently started playing Skyrim again and after having a character up at about level 20 I wanted to start a new character to test out other races and what not, however when I get to the character creation part of the prologue, whenever I select Female of any race, the game instantly crashes, no error messages, no nothing. I tried disabling every hair mod I had thinking that had something to do with it but alas, it won't work. It even crashes in the coc ctest cell, and I suspect the only reason it doesn't crash in my main game is because I'm ALREADY playing a female character. I really don't want to have to wipe my Skyrim and run a clean install all over again, so I'm hoping someone here might know whats causing it. So far I can't even get Papyrus to generate a log or else I might have some idea myself of what was causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated though! Thanks!
Teddar Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 It sounds like you need to look at your skeleton first but im no expert. If you don't already have it, get an XP32 or XP32 extended and see what happens then.

Yeah I've got the XP32 Extended Skeleton, and when I go into Racemenu and play around with my current Ningheim characters body, or hair or anything, it runs fine, some slight lag maybe but nothing horrible. But if I go back to Race even on her and select Nord or anything, it instantly crashes again.
aqqh Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 You got something messed up with female skeletons or female character assets. For example it could be that you female body mod does not work with your skeleton (for example if you got yourself TBBP body and try to run it on non TBBP skeleton).

I'll have to go reinstall the skeletons and the body mods then. I'll report back and see if this fixes it. Fingers crossed!

Alright so I reinstalled the XP32 Extended Skeleton as well as my SevenBase TBBP body, doing the body first and then the skeleton so as to ensure nothing was overwritten by 7B however the crash still persists. I'm really beginning to think I'll have to wipe the whole game out again just to fix this error xD
Guest Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 You have the requirements make %100 sure. Requirement (Need to be installed BEFORE):Realistic Ragdolls and Force by dDefinderFores New Idles in Skyrim For Ingame Weapon position switching:SKSE 1.7.2Racemenu 3.0 Make sure that you install the new racemenu and also make sure Realistic Ragdolls and force is installed first then you install your skeleton and the last option on the skeleton installer make sure to select the first option not the bbp option. Then I also make sure you have HDT physics extension installed.
Teddar Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Try the 1.93 skeleton. It might be the extended that's causing the problem if you don't have hdt physics extensions or if there is something wrong with you installation of those. Also make sure you have racemenu pre cache killer installed
Symphonic Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 i used to know this guy... Keith was his name, he always used to CTD, once he got 90% degree burns all over his body because he got a CTD while trying to launch Skyrim while in the tunnel of love... ... if it's not a Skeleton Problem, Well... could you post a list with your load order?, or do you have other mods that overhaul females?, do you have racemenu pre cache killer?, tried to run boss or loot?~

Alrighty I reinstalled all those in that order just to see if it would change anything, and I've had HDT installed for quite awhile, it would be crashing directly at the logo if I didn't have HDT. Sadly it did not do anything to fix the auto crash when selecting a female i used to know this guy... Keith was his name, he always used to CTD, once he got 90% degree burns all over his body because he got a CTD while trying to launch Skyrim while in the tunnel of love... ... if it's not a Skeleton Problem, Well... could you post a list with your load order?, or do you have other mods that overhaul females?, do you have racemenu pre cache killer?, tried to run boss or loot?~ I've tried using BOSS and it mentions things in the Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, etc so I'm not sure if I need to clean those up or if that would even be related to this issue and yes I have the precache killer installed. Try the 1.93 skeleton. It might be the extended that's causing the problem if you don't have hdt physics extensions or if there is something wrong with you installation of those. Also make sure you have racemenu pre cache killer installed 1.93 Skeleton eh? That could be the issue but I do have HDT installed so I'm not sure why it would be suddenly causing an issue now. The annoying part of this problem is that this could have happened based on just about any mod I've installed at any point and I wouldn't have noticed it because it only showed up when I tried to make a new character! Blargh!
nutluck Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 First I would use LOOT over BOSS since LOOT is BOSS 3.0 Second are you using a lot of mods to improve how your character looks, hair, eye, skin, etc graphics? If so are you using racemenu, ECE, or some other programs? Because it could be when you click on female and it tries to load in the extra graphical stuff it is hanging up and then crashing. Racemenu has a built in feature that makes it not load most of the stuff until you select it. Making choosing things a bit slower but keeps you from having crashes in character creation. I don't remember if ECE does or not.

I don't remember if ECE does or not. I brought up LOOT and it says the same thing BOSS did, that I have some files that need TES5Edit to clean them, but they're stuff like the Dawnguard.esm and the Update.esm. I'm using Racemenu 3.0 and I've got mods like Ningheim, Citrus Heads, Eyes of Beauty, KS_Hairdos, ApachiiSkyHair, etc. I've tried disabling all the ApachiiSky files because I heard they could cause an issue and nothing was fixed. =\
nutluck Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Yeah I just meant LOOT is more current so makes a better load order, BOSS is not longer being updated. Yeah some things have dirty edits, though you can clean the DLC's. They shouldn't cause a crash but you can clean them. Gopher did a really nice video on youtube about how to clean stuff with TES5Edit you might want to check out for the future. Either way that is not the cause of the crash. Ok you are using RM3.0 so it shouldn't be a issue with graphics, since it has a precachekiller built in. The hairs, eyes etc shouldn't be a issue. Cirtus head I doubt is a issue because it should effect both genders. Have you run TES5Edit with all the mods checked just to be on the safe side. I don't think it will return anything but never hurts to be sure. I would try removing Ninghem and starting a new character another new one. And then see if it still crashes. I believe that is a race mod, that seems the most likely one if it is not a skeleton. What is the URL to it? maybe it has some advice on crashes like this.
Guest Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I would suggest posting your load order so we can help further

Out of curiosity does your working save crash if you strip your character naked? If it does then it would be the naked body replacer you are using although as you normally start clothed i wouldn't of thought that would cause a crash on selecting a female (unless you have something showing them nude by default) If you do get the crash on your working save after stripping i'd suggest re-installing whichever nude body mod you are using

I also don't have a replacer that starts you off as naked. However I've managed to figure out the issue after I uninstalled every mod I had and then proceeded to reinstall them one by one. It turns out it was the Extended Skeleton, but specifically it was the check box to add sliders for Racemenu that was causing it to crash immediately. I've still wiped out my Skyim and ended up reinstalling it piece by piece before figuring this out however, but oh well. xD Thanks for all the helpful suggestions though! I really appreciated the effort of everyone here.
nutluck Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Huh interesting, I am guessing you didn't have the RM installed then. Though still strange it wouldn't crash with the men since they use the sliders too.
