vegaorc Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hey everyone, I'd like to know if someone else is experiencing the same thing as I do. When i download the files from detailed terrain: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/15245 All i get is a .zip containing files with no extension (possibly corrupt). Am I the only one?
myuhinny Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Detailed Terrain - Beta II is the omod/main file/mod the DT Texture Pack - Unique Landscapes and DT Texture Pack - Shivering Isles are just what the name implies textures and nothing more they are what you can use with DT there isn't going to be anything else in them as it is not needed as they are used to overwrite what DT beta installs when activating the omod. Just extract them into a folder and drop them where they need to be after installing DT beta omod.
vegaorc Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 The problem is that not even the main file shows up as an omod...
myuhinny Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 You have to go to it in your oblivion folder right click the omod go to open with and select OBMM it and add it so that it gets loaded into OBMM. Then install it through OBMM.
vegaorc Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Ah I see, I guess I figured it out. This never happened before, I got a little confused. Thank you!
CarlosOn Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 If you have the commercial license you can do anything you like with the terrain since you have full source access. Manipulate the buffer, make larger terrain, implement LOD etc...
ljacquard Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 It may be that the Nexus feeds you the file as a zip, when it's supposed to be a .omod. It has been a while since I've downloaded the mod, sorry. One that I also recommend. Just make sure that your Oblivion uses SM3 compatible shaders (check out your <.\My documents\My Games\Oblivion\RendererInfo.txt> to confirm this), and be aware that the omod archive contains a script that needs to be run to update your stock shaders.
