FubarN7 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I have been attempting to use various enb settings for ages now with little to no results to speak of. It seems every place I look, every answer I find, does not help in any way what so ever. when I install an ENB, I typically get only the lighting effects from the preset and even then, the color and contrast mostly comes out wonky. I get no ambient occlusion, no depth of field, nothing. It has been an extremely frustrating process. If I had to take a guess, I would say it has to due to me using a laptop with dual graphics cards. I have an intel card and an nvidia gt 730m. However, I'm not 100 percent sure this is the issue because I have used ENBs in different games like fallout and oblivion, and I actually got the desired results. It appears that its only in skyrim do I have trouble. (I attached some examples of weirdness) Any and all help is much appreciated and encouraged. I want to finally get this sorted out, once and for all.
myuhinny Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Well skyrim is a lot more intensive then fallout/oblivion it could be that your laptop can't handle many of the ones for skyrim. Then if you add in other things like high graphic textures mods as well as mods with lots of scripts how many mods you have installed what those mods do that you have installed can all affect how something looks and works.
FubarN7 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Well, normally I would agree, but I do not believe that is the cause of the issue. I never have any issues playing skyrim, and I typically run close to ultra settings. I think you misinterpreted what I was attempting to say. It would e one thing if DoF and AO worked and just bogged down my game to 5 fps. That scenario would lead me to believe what you are saying, however, that is not the case. Those features don't even show up at all. Activating and deactivating them manually in ENB settings (during gameplay) has no effect at all.
Killing Joke Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Be sure to disable ingame AA and in your drivers. Also, since you're playing on a laptop and if your ENB preset is compatible, try using injector version instead of wrapper.
ousnius Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Set your NVIDIA GPU to always be used for Skyrim in the NVIDIA control panel. Disable in-game and driver anti-aliasing. Make sure you have your Skyrim INI's edited for ENB (bFloatPointRenderTarget=1). Update your Intel and NVIDIA graphics drivers.
FubarN7 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Thanks guys. I am yet to test this but I can say that It may be due to nvidia forcing AA. I always turn it off through skyrim and use the injector, but I may need to look through the nvidia control panel. Keep the suggestions coming, because this may not work for me. Fingers crossed.
FubarN7 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Update: That didnt seem to do much either. I have both my skyrim Ini files correctly, I have launched using the injector, and I have disabled AA in both skyrim and Nvidia control panel. I am starting to think its not a problem with nvidia but rather my pain in the ass intel card. It may be forcing AA but the control panel has just a slider. It lacks most advanced controls. No idea how to sort that out other than removing my intel driver, but I think that would cause a mess of problems on its own.
wjfleury Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I am having trouble with my new machine. I am trying to load an ENB and it won't even get into Skyrim. It goes to start and immediately crashes to the desktop as it tries to load. I have done the copying of the ENBSeries files to the root skyrim folder. I loaded Realvision through Nexus Mod Manager like I always do the ran the RVInstall and the RVini programs to change my files, then tried it and it didn't work so then I tried doing the add ons that didn't work. If I delete the DLL file Skyrim starts up and runs fine. But if I try to load the ENB I crash before I can even get in the game. HELP PLEASE I am kind of a noob and been racking my brain for hours. Thank you all
FubarN7 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 But you had it working on your previous setup? Hmm... I have never had any issues with enb crashing my game before, so it may be possible that it is a mod related issue. I would remove everything you added (ENB wise, not your mods) and try another preset that isn't realvision. If it still crashes, it's a mod problem, if not then enb really is at fault. If it is the latter, I would look into the changes that RVini made to your skyrim ini files. Maybe it modified something like amount of memory that doesn't match up with your system. EDIT: Also, try this {} {} {} {} {}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{} {}{}{}{}{}{} {}{}{}{} {}{} {}

Thank you all Both of you first try this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7804/? Most problems with ENB are because the previous ENB wasn't clean properly.
FubarN7 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 I'll give it a shot. It could be this. I know my presets have always bean a pain to remove due to skse and mod manager files cluttering my skyrim folder.
wjfleury Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I tried with a complete uninstall of Skyrim and Nexus Mod Manager. Went and cleaned up the Steam/Skyrim directory on my C drive cleared the saved games and Ini files in my Documents/My Games folder, cleaned up Nexus in the C games directory and the My Documents folder and reinstalled several times and it still is not working. Is it possible there may be something in the registry that is leftover screwing things up? My install of Realvision is the same as I always did. Is there a good registry cleaner out there?
FubarN7 Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 I seemed to have solved my problem. I just used a bunch of different presets and found one that looked best in it's weird broken form. As for you wjfleury, I wish I could help you, but I cant point you in the right direction, other than trying an ENB that wasn't realvision, and seeing if it still crashes. maybe run a game with just the dll from enbseries and see if that crashes as well.
wjfleury Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I finally got it working today. Well I got Realvision working I was hoping for something better. I am too afraid to do anything with it as I am not exactly sure what I did that made it work. I think it was the fact that unlike the previous times I had uninstalled all my mods first then my Skyrim game, went and manually cleaned up all the leftover stuff and the reinstalled Skyrim and tried the ENB first and it would always crap out right away. This time betweem the uninstall and the reinstall I rebooted the machine. I am not sure if that did it but didn't want to take the chance. Realvision doesn't look too bad. Here is a few Screenshots I got off earlier this afternoon.
wjfleury Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I just changed some of my ENB setting I think I improved the picture check this out.
