Starting Fresh and curious about mods

Thinking of replaying Oblivion after a few years and have a few questions about mods (without having read the 50+ pages devoted to them).

1) Are there relationship mods that go beyond just sex? IE, get married and so forth?

2)If so, do these mods allow for me to be chased and romanced, at least to some degree? It would be interesting if your actions sparked interest in others.

3) I remember back when I played before, everything was BAB body and clothing. I assume that has been replaced, which mod has all the clothing in game already changed for it and also most options? Which works best?
 

I guess what I am really asking, even beyond the questions above, which mods are the most "must have" currently? There is just so much to read and hard to figure out where to begin.

There is a relatively new mod that covers up romance; but as far as I know only by one specific (male) companion:

As for the body, your best shot is CBBE + Bodyslide 2.

1. not really. With Lovers you can select a NPC as your Partner but no romance.

There is a marriage ring Mod , you add the ring in a NPC inventory and he/she is your Partner. A Companion who follows you , no romance.

 

Lovers/LAPF  = sex Mod

 

3.HGEC Body. If you want to Play Lovers a must have Body ( best Cup sizes for the sex animations E , H or DM )

 

Install tips, Bodies, Vanilla armor/clothes replacers,.... see my yellow Link below.

I think Vilja is the closest you will get to a relationship type mod. She is a follower type mod she is completely voiced with tons of things to say. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/28977/?There are body replacers out there if you look there is also a hair replacer for her also found on the nexus.

You don't necessarily need the HGEC body per-se, but one thing that is very strongly recommended is a body compatible with the HGEC textures (which is to say, having a similar UV map).

 

Take a look at Setbody and pick the body you like the best, or use the mod itself to give actors in your game varied bodies.

I am pretty confused, which irritates me because when Oblivion 1st came out I made mods for it. I seem to have forgotten everything...

I got this mod, HGEC Body with BBB v1dot12, and just wanted the fighter top and LL bottom. Instructions are "1. Open the HANDS folder and drag the DATA folder in it to your Oblivion folder. This IS REQUIRED as it has a skeleton that IS REQUIRED to keep your boobs on the screen", but problem is it doesn't say which to take and not take. Hands are found in different folders in the download, which am I replacing? I looked at a few other mods to see if instructions were more clear and nada... I am just stuck til I have time to sit down and find a tutorial so I can remember all this stuff again.

HGEC Body with BBB v1dot12 is a OMod .... or not ?

If you have extracted the OMod

upper Body:

open Folder "nude"- "Fighter Upper Body" and then D, E or H  (Cup size) ; copy the meshes Folder in your data Folder. ( now you have upper Body and Hands)

 

Lower Body:

open Folder "nude"- "Lower Body Set" then "LL" Folder ; copy the meshes Folder in your data Folder. (now you have Lower Body and feet )

 

Textures (if you want )

open the "Common" Folder and copy the textures Folder in your data Folder.

 

Don't use the Skeleton and the animations !!!

Do not install Oblivion in the folder specified by the game Installation program ( C:\ program files .....),

Really impressed with how far Oblivion has come, these mods are great! So many great bodies too, I can't decide which I like best yet

I do have a few questions though.
1) Is there way to slow it down? The dialog goes so fast sometimes and I loose track of who is saying what.
2) Is there way to align positions better? Some are really far off.

Tools you need

Elys Universal Silent Voice , slows  down dialogs ( if it is still to fast you can add longer empty Sound file)

 

positions: read LAPF page. use the Position keys 1-4 and 9,0 ; and the arrow keys to move you and the NPC if you stuck in a wall or table

And for NPC-NPC sex:

First move the crosshair close enough to display the name of either actor of the pair involved
to lock adjustments keys to that sex act, and then use the 0-9/arrow keys as you would for player
sex, or grab key for animation change.
- Since the number keys 1-8 bring up the quickbar when the player is not involved in sex, the
number pad numbers can also now be used for position adjustments.
- Holding down Shift while making position adjustments makes them at quadruple speed. Holding
down Ctrl makes them at half Speed.

I did follow your yellow link, it was wonderful and made this all so easy. It appears though that for whatever reason Elys Universal Silent Voice isn't working. It only last 1-2 seconds of dialog. I will reinstall it all tomorrow and get it sorted out, not bad for my 1st time if only thing that didn't work was that

Elys Universal Silent Voice is for dialogs. For Mods without voice files.

The Messages/dialogs that pops up during sex you can not really slow down. ( not sure if MenuQue can slow down the Messages)

Oh thanks for informing me, saves me time of reinstalling tomorrow. I am starting to remember how to mod, I made a few mods very early on for Oblivion so I am not starting off new, just trying to remember is all. I have cute elf installed so I can actually play one but need to figure out which body type it is associated with and maybe do something about the horrible glow that accompanies it. Other than that I am doing solid.

Seriously, thank you for your help and input. I may have just said screw it and moved on since Oblivion has become so complicated, but nice advice and some very helpful links made coming back a breeze. Just need to find various mods now, like that sexy walk, and other visual and game play tidbits that I enjoy.

A "romance" mod for Oblivion would be awesome to have, and sorely lacks in Oblivion.

 

<Vilja> is there as was said previously, and it's great as companion mod (the best one for Oblivion so far), but it's fairly tame as a "romance" mod. There are <Fergus>, <Dairanath Avari> and <Montana's sexy companion> too, but none of them really qualify as "romance" mods.

 

The mod wouldn't (and shouldn't) have to be raunchy or anything, even better if it isn't, but something that really develops through time and adventures instead and could lead to a bonding, like Julan the Ashlander (for TES3/Morrowind) or Willow/Vanessa (for Fallout New Vegas).

 

LAPF and our imagination could do the rest.

 

EDIT : Forgot to mention <Ruined tail's tale>, available on the Nexus. It's a good mod, that could qualify as a "romance" mod (if you don't mind "flirting" with an Argonian).
