***Welcome to my thread for sharing RaceMenu v3 Presets***

 

 

***The purpose of this thread is to allow users of Skyrim to share their RaceMenu presets. Originally I was only going to ask for presets that involved the new sculpt mode, but any presets will be appreciated. Upload to your hearts content!***

If you wish to use the character in the picture above (courtesy of expired6978), download this file and RENAME it to something like "new.jslot" (without the quotations) and put it in:

 

ProgramFiles(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim/Data/SKSE/Plugins/CharGen/Presets

(Note that your character may not look EXACTLY the same, as I'm not sure what textures expired is using. He/she is NOT using the Citrus HD Head Mesh for the character above, so if you try to import that preset using Citrus HD Head Mesh, your character will look wrong)

 

Overview
The reason I decided to list this in the "adult" category was if any preset had tattoos, and required a nude character for them to be seen, you could upload screenshots with ease.
 
Depending on whether or not this thread does well, I may take the liberty of creating specific lists (on this thread).  It would be much easier to simply click a spoiler tab and see a list of presets. I hope this thread helps you find and share your amazing created characters.
 
Requirements:

Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) version 1.7.2 (or newer) is REQUIRED to use RaceMenu, so be sure to pick that up if you don't have it already. If you need help installing SKSE, watch this video by Gopher:

May I suggest lists of "reference based preset" and "free form preset" in addition to or instead of male/female?  RM3 sculpt + CITRUS head combo has the potential to create realistic faces rival the next gen system for the first time and we already have the standard preset share threads for good looking original characters.

Of course :D but I'll proably only be creating the specific lists if the thread actually has users of RM3 posting their presets. It is a work in progress, and I'll check back and make changes if people use it.

Why is a preset sharing thread presented as a mod though ? Kinda over fancy.

 

I'm a fancy guy hehehe. Visual effects, programming, etc. are kinda my thing. I find them incredibly enjoyable, and the majority of threads/topics I create turn out this way lol.

Most people don't bother to read OP unless there is a list of stuff to download so having a list for "reference based preset" present not only encourages people to go that direction but also get people to read the OP and realize this is for "RM3 sculpt head presets" and not dilute the thread.

Are presets made with v2 not compatible with v3?

 

It's the other way around.  RM3 uses a different preset system vs. RM2.  You can export head nif in RM2 and import it into RM3 with the new sculpt mode so you won't lose anything upgrading. 

 

EDIT:　RM3 added a lot of new functions so the preset files are different.  Same as how new MS Office products are only backward compatible.

I recommend uploading the Exported head as well. The Preset contains everything you need under normal circumstances but it's not really meant to be used cross-race. Geometry importing is more reliable in this aspect.

 

 

Also, do not post presets using the Citrus Replacer. Only use the Standalone.

 

Sculpt data will indefinitely crash if you attempt to load a Citrus preset that was made with the Replacer version. This is not likely to be 'fixed' because you've broken your preset by doing this anyway.

Requirements: Citrus Standalone head (Bubble Gum edition).

The Skin texture and facepaint are the main differences (I'm using SG renewal and not the custom face that comes with either of the followers).

Note: Load each head in nifscope and turn off textures and you will see they are as close as I could get them.

 

Note 2: if you load import the head in RM 3 you will need to make sure the eyebrows, mouth, and what not are in a similar location or you'll end up with some crazy shit.

 

 

Edit: Just a little tinkering in nifscope to point the new heads to the old textures and then a cut and paste of the heads in OS...

Edit 2: (had to eat lunch).

One thing I have noticed is... IF you are not using an aftermarket head like Citrus you can copy the head nif from a followers face gen data (\Skyrim\Data\meshes\Actors\Character\FaceGenData\Facegeom\ "follower folder") and put the copy into the "\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen" and then import the head via race menu.

 

You will not get the characters custom texture but you will get the face morph.

 

You can also tinker with running Skyrim without a add on face like Citrus, build the custom head and save it as a preset. Then close Skyrim add Citrus back to your load order and start skyrim back up with the preset and RM will do it's best to convert the preset head to the higher poly citrus head.

 

 

Now on things of a higher poly count...

Does anyone have a high poly mouth set, not a HD texture but an actual higher vertices count for the teeth and what not?

Same question for a higher poly eyebrow mesh?

So I unchecked Citrus from my load order, fired up Skyrim started a new game and loaded

Sarana Kate (the Salina Kyle Serana replacer pulled facegen data from bsa file), LC2013 (pulled the facegen strait from the bsa file), Agolidia (AJ Lydia replacer), and Jessica as Jordis (JA Jordis replacer).

 

Built 4 presets with a bald head and closed Skyrim.

Then I added Citrus Standalone back to my load order, and fired Skyrim back up.

Loaded each one of the presets, RM did its convert and then I saved the presets again.

Citrus Heads for RM 3.7z

Note: the 3d hair from the Painted Lady is in each of those presets and I use a UNP body style so you can uncheck them when you load the preset (or if you don't have the painted lady installed it should just not load...not sure on that).

 

The 7z is for a strait drop into Skyrim's main folder.

Included are the nif files, face overlay dds file, and jslot save...

Just because of the additional sliders the Maximum Skeleton used to or does add to RaceMenu. I honestly couldn't remember if it still did so I listed it anyway. If you want me to drop it, I will.

Yeah the original xp32 skeleton was done by xp32 but Groovtama did the extended version here on LL, which xp32 later added to the download section of the xp32 mod on Nexus.

How do you actually save the file as a .jslot file?  Sorry,  I'm new to doing this.

 

Use RaceMenu 3, enter the Presets tab in the upper right corner and use the hotkey shown at the bottom. Give it a name and save.
