Bug: Hidden devices still equipped

Not sure if to post this in tech help or adult mods. Move as appropriate.

 

So, the following happens to me, maybe someone has an idea what the cause is or how to debug it:

 

I have a series of devious devices - a belt, a collar, shoes - who are supposedly equipped but are neither in my inventory, nor do they show on my character, nor do they have any effect. In short, the only thing they do is to block the corresponding slot.

 

If I try to equip one devices belonging to one of those slots, the "It is impossible to wear multiple x simultaneously" message appears, the device to be equipped is still unequipped and the OLD (formerly invisible) device appears, visible on the character and with effects. Sadly, it is still not in my inventory, thus preventing me from properly unequipping it.

 

I've tried the following:

* The "free me!" debug option from DD - Cursed Loot

* The "remove all shackles" debug option from Wolfclub.

 

Any ideas?

Some items are actually in your inventory but don't show up, specially if they're not supposed to. Try opening the console up, clicking on your character and typing 'inv', then pressing enter. It'll show all equipped items, and you can unequip them from there (although not really recommended in general, but your case is an exception).

The recommended way of fixing items that bug out in the DDi thread is to try and put them into a container, this has normally fixed them for me so might be worth a try

open the console and click on your character. Once your character is selected type this comman

showinventory

you will the inventory of aaaalll the items you character has. (best to do it when naked)

you will also see some items without a name tha are 'worn'. these are the devices. None of them will have a name but only their ID. so find which ones they are and type

removeitem "xxxxx"

 

and easier way to do this is this.

STRIP completely.. have absolutely nothing on you. Like the day you were born :-)

open the console, click on you character and type:

removeallitems   (guess what that does  )

You can also just open the console and type unequip all to remove everything equipped. Items unequipped this way will still be favourited, but you'll have to re-number the items on your favourites menu.
