Game launch but...

heya!

 

Well, I am bored with skyrim and wanted to try the new sexouts plugins to see how they have evolved.

 

When I launch the game, I get the music and the slides but no menu appearing. In other words, all i get is the guy with the gun background image and the music looping for ever.

 

Anyone else ever had this issue?

Hangs or CTD's on start up are generally from either missing masters or bad ini files.

 

Rename your fallout.ini to fallout.ini-disabled in your documents\my games\fallout new vegas\ folder (where your saved games folder is) and try starting the game with the original FalloutNV.exe (not the NVSE loader or FOMM!) this will cause the game to auto generate a new one. If this doesn't work check your load order and see if you have all required esm\esp files in their proper order (only the esm file order is critical).

Thanks. Since i had a very old install, my workaround was to disable every mod and start until the one missing reference show up

 

the game work now but idk why, the brutalrape is not triggering at all even if i set the stalker value to 30 etc.

Jezzy, you might try posting your load order and if you your game is rather old you may also need to check and make sure you are running the latest NVSE.

1st, you should know that I've been upgrading every mods with the lastest version. I use the lastest NVSE too and everything work like a charm, no CTD etc. The only thing not working is SexoutBrutalRapers.esp (which is not activated in this list atm because im using the standard SexoutRapers.esp which is working fine). I really want the brutal version to work as i find the lack of features I would like to experience in the standard version.

lol interesting... ive been trying to figure out whats up with brutal :

The "standard" SexoutRapers script is disabled, freq. in brutal is set to 30, I make sure to uncheck the faction option and tried to stand in the middle of a crowd to see what would happen. A lot of NPC has been raped but after a moderate/long wait my character finaly got some lewd look. However my gear didnt drop, they didnt stole anything etc. just like the standard version lol. Oh yeah every time a NPC get rape, theres a message telling that i have escape lol...

If rapers/brutal is your only problem, I don't think you're fubar. Neither one of those is working correctly right now. If your game IS fubar, you can unfubar it pretty fast so long as you used FOMM for everything.

 

If not.. well.. it's the weekend. Start it reinstalling and go watch some TV. I recommend House, Dr. Who, and/or NCIS.

LOL Great recommendation thanks for letting me know that both of the rapers scripts are broken, it explain why i cant get it to work

Right now Brutal Rapers is the most stable, but it's missing some advanced features that are still broken.

Not sure if it will help but try the version of brutal rapers in post 535 as it has been pretty stable for me anyway.

There is a later version a few posts down but I have not tried it yet and probably won't as it just adds some drug scripts which I am not really interested in.

 

The original raper file was as Prideslayer and Loogie said quite broken and buggy as hell. I had CTD's all the time with it but haven't had a single issue with brutal rapers (keeping by fingers crossed I didn't just jinx myself LOL!!)

You know what's weird about this?

 

1. It does actually cause problems.

 

but

 

2. Even if they're in the wrong order, if you do a GetModIndex on all of them, the order will be correct.

 

The game will even load ESMs you have disabled, if they are in the directory and you load some other mod that requires them; try it yourself. Disable sexout and scr, but leave the pregnancy esp enabled. The game will load both sexout and scr since they're listed as masters, as long as they exist in the directory.

 

That's one reason I tell people to disable the mods from the package manager when testing -- some other mod might be loading ESMs that you 'thought' you had disabled.

I probably notice it more than others because everytime I do an edit of SCR it drops it under Legion then crashes on game load or throws up an error in FNVEdit when checking it.

Yes I've noticed that strangness too, I couldn't workout why Deactivated Legion kept showing in MCM till I noticed I had WorkingGirls still activated.

 

I've added a Load Order reminder to SCR OP to hoefully diffuse a few of these questions.

Since I'm doing some hacking on FOMM anyway to try and add skyrim support, I can also look into the difficulty of adding some kind of visual warning to FOMM if it sees ESMs out of order. It can tell what is master to what, so checking order should not be too difficult, then maybe change the color of the out of order ESMs to red or something.
