Devious Diana Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 I'm having issues with the ENB's I have on my NMM, I have several ENB's but 1 active at a time, but whenever I activate one nothing seems to change? The lighting and textures remain the same. I don't know what I'm doing wrong here, do I need some sort of sub-mod in order to make my ENB's actually work? Can anybody help?
pinky6225 Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 When you start up skyrim what does it say in the top left corner? When I load it gives me the copyright from Boris and then the version of the d3d9.dll i'm using (at the min i think i'm using the .221 library) in the top left so do these appear for you? If they don't i'd check the requirements of the ENB you are currently using and what .dll file it requires from Boris' website since while some ENBs will work the majority will not if the incorrect version of the .dll file is used. If the version stuff displays correctly in the top left without any error messages then try loading a game and doing Shift + Enter to bring up the ENB controls and check its turned on
Starless Aeon Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 I tried to install ENB with NMM, and it's not possible for some reason, so I installed it manually. Not sure why, but NMM won't install files in TESV folder it seems.

Killing Joke Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Don't use NMM to install an ENB, nor any mod manager. If you want to install several ENB presets and be able to switch them, try ENB manager and changer. If you use only one, drop all the files in skyrim's main folder.
pinky6225 Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 As i recall (although do smoke dope so recall is sketchy ) the d3d9.dll file required for the ENB has to installed seperately as the creator specifically said to not re-host these files on nexus so usually in the nexus description it has a link to boris' website saying you need the 0.221 or 0.251 etc version. I have used NMM to install a ENB before and for me it worked okay but i still had to go find the d3d9.dll and manually install in the \skyrim folder due to the above The only ENB i've seen that comes packaged with the d3d9.dll is the loverslab glossy/non-glossy ENB by minou (http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1334-minous-glossy-enb/) which you can literally unzip and then drag and drop and everything is their
ousnius Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 You can't use one of the "mod" managers for installing ENB and ENB presets, as it's not a real Skyrim "mod" that lies in the Data folder. As the others said, get the binaries from enbdev.com that your preset suggests you should use and drop them into your main Skyrim folder. Then drop the files of your ENB preset in there afterwards as well. Here is an example for Project ENB:
