Allannaa Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Is it, in fact, possible to merge mods with TES5? For instance, I made a mod that adds (does not replace) eight pieces of jewelry. I also made a mod that re-colours (adds but again, does not replace) Glass Armour, and a third which did the same for Glass Weapons. But that's three separate mods, and yet they're all basically related. Can I use TES5 to merge them into ONE mod, which then replaces all three, to shorten my mod list / load order? If anyone knows of a tutorial for this, please point me there! I've looked at the TES5Edit site and I think my brain burst... it was a little complicated looking to even find a basic tutorial there, so a link for this specific issue would be useful. Thanks!
fizzybutt Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37981/? That script right there will help you out tremendously. I haven't successfully been able to merge tattoo overlays (all hell breaks loose lol) But I have 4 armor merges, each containing between 10-20 seperate mods, and I merged the oblivion hair mod that gives you 7 seperate esp's.
Allannaa Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Oh neat. So, in theory at least... I could merge AllaSkyrim Stained Glass Armour, Stained Glass Weapons, and Jewelry... And I could merge AllaSkyrim Merchants and AllaSkyrim Crafting and Alla's Fantasy World... so that I would then have 2 ESPs for all my personal changes to Skyrim, instead of 6 ESPs... Right?
fizzybutt Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Yeah, just make sure to read the directions. It seems a little intimidating at first until you get the hang of it. You do need to extract the bsa's though, unless that's changed. I've got it set up in MO where the loose files are in a 'mod' right below the original so that I can essentially deactivate the original mod with it's esp's and bsa's. I've got osares mods merged into my patches, and those merchants still work fine.

If the obivion hair mod is the one I'm thinking of, their is a version with only one esp for them all. Also what I have found is if I merge more than about 10 armor mods into 1, the construction kit truncates the esp when I load it, or at least it says it did the one time I made a merged armor patch that big.
fizzybutt Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 The one I have is Radioragae's, which when I got the shared file a couple months ago, it still had 7 esp's inside. And yes I've noticed with my larger merges the CK will complain when I start it up, but I don't mess with those in the CK, no reason for me to and there isn't any harm done to them if I don't.

fizzybutt Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Yeah that's it, but it's gone from the nexus for a long time now. With what you're doing, you have to find the happy place so CK doesn't complain. I was curious last night so I didn't just automatically close out the warning when I opened the program, It's limit is 512. The one it comeplains about for me is at 622. Which is my largest one. I can't help beyond that because I'm still learning to use the blasted thing lol. I've basically quit trying to craft everything I want >.< When I start a new character it's usually for testing something, and then I put her at the same level my real playthrough is at with that skill mod mcm. Then spawn all the available chests from mods in the test cell so I can play dress up.
Allannaa Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 When you say extract the BSAs.... Is that actually necessary since the textures, meshes, and one-and-only script, are already in my Skyrim > Data folder? I put them there as I made the mods.
Varithina Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 And allannaa, sorry for semi-hijacking your thread
Varithina Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 When you say extract the BSAs.... Is that actually necessary since the textures, meshes, and one-and-only script, are already in my Skyrim > Data folder? I put them there as I made the mods. You should not in this instance need to extract the bsa's, though it might be worth while just taking the extra bit of time to make sure everything is where you think it is and has not gone somewhere else. As its your mod it should not but you can never tell.
Varithina Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hmm, you might also want to check and see why the myyuffielittle.jpg is getting reported by avast as a security threat as well, which as a .jpg it should not be.

It might have changed, I haven't read the new updates, but the guy who made the merge script said to use loose files due to the way esp's read them. It might work, it might not. All you can do is try. If your files are already loose (not in a bsa) Then you're good to go. You can try with your personal bsa, which it might work, if it doesn't all you gotta do is extract the files like you would any normal zip file (only using the bsa extractor) and put them into your folders. Hmm, you might also want to check and see why the myyuffielittle.jpg is getting reported by avast as a security threat as well, which as a .jpg it should not be. Is that an ad on the page somewhere? Avast has been giving Ashal hell lately with some ads doing weird things. There's that malware thread floating around that he said to take the source information and send it to him when you see it as it helps him figure it out.. or something like that. I'd have to read it again.

See section below, not sure why a .jpg is throwing out malware reports though. Allannaa Hidden Island and Fantasy World Alla’s Acorns
fizzybutt Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 It's a link to their personal web space. I'm not getting any errors for anything when I go there. Avast is just being mean to you I imagine. From what I've been reading it's gotten really finicky on lots of things that have no reason.

Seems to be from other sites on the domain carrying trojan's and such from what I have quickly read on a google search. That's not to say I think ally has any but well, it dosen't look like avast likes the host site at all.
fizzybutt Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 It might have something to do with any ads that are popping up on that host site. Kinda like what Avast was doing here for a little bit until Ashal just removed the offending source of the ads completely.

That's not to say I think ally has any but well, it dosen't look like avast likes the host site at all. Byethost has had that issue for ages. I've reported it to the tech support guys and all that. No one seems to know why Avast blocks it. It's blocked by FB too. Apparently, at some point in their distant past, one of their customers was doing naughty hacker things. We're talking distant past like, 9 years back when it first came out. But the trouble is, it's one of few sites that allows erotic content, and some of my art is most assuredly in that category.... So I keep using it. My own Avast doesn't freak out, but I remember Avira did once. I'd host the wuffie avatar somewhere else, if there was anywhere else I could host it. And I'm open to ideas. And I don't mind thread hijacks. Obviously. LOL
