OBMM error

hey guys my obmm was working perfectly then it starts with an error now.

saying that obmm must be installed to oblivions base directory and if i have removed oblivion_default.ini' please replace it. i have no idea where it should be im guessing in the base directory or in the my documents, either one of those two. what should i do? i have about 1000 mods installed right now so reinstall would be slightly out of the question. if possible could someone upload the file to mediafire or something and tell me where to replace it?

thanks in advance

Spike, try renaming your oblivion.ini file to oblivion.ini-backup and then start the game with the the oblivion.exe and not OBMM or OBSE's loader. This will make the game generate a new ini. Then exit oblivion and try OBMM again.

hmm well this is somewhat i did exactly that and still got the error... this is looking like its going to be one massive headache. i can still run the game if i run it though OBSE_Loader.exe

Spike, go to oblivion\OBMM\loadorder.txt rename it to loadorder.txt-disabled

Now start OBMM as you normally would and see if it opens.

If that doesn't work try uninstalling/then reinstalling OBMM.

Things like this are why I harp and harp at people to make a backup of their entire game that they update on a periodic basis so they can easily recover from stuff like this.

I have had this before, for me it was a corrupt OMOD install, I have and OMOD on my system, that I can not un install now, or OBMM goes wacky. I keep the worthless mod disabled manually, but I can not remove it with out screwing up everything.

This can happen a few way's, one you just allow OBMM to install a zipped file and let it make the OMOD, then latter you Update the Mod manually. [somehow this can sometimes corrupt OBMM mod list]

another is removing a OMOD manually, or some of that mods Data, such as meshes, textures, sounds, ini, Then OBMM can not find the mods structure, and again, it goes wacky.

Installing the same mod with another OMOD with out removing the old one first, and clearing things up.

[ Mods like zzetrus, and cursed armor have great potential to do this, and zzestrus and early version is the one i have problem with. I think because much of there structure is done with no association to Oblivion.ESM, but I am only guessing]

I am not saying this is what happened, but it is what cause my problem. I had to re install the older version of the mod, as and OMOD from the zip file again, and then just disable it and ignore it.

For me that fixed the problem. But the problem is still there. Its just not bothering me now.
