briancs159 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 A couple of months ago I bought Fallout 3 and New Vegas on steam. I beat Fallout 3 a while ago and enjoyed every bit. I played that without any sexual mods. Now I want to move onto New Vegas. Like the title says I'm not sure if I should use Sexout on my first playthrough or just play vanilla style. I was mainly looking into the mods that add sex to the wasteland like "Sexout Tryout" and "NCR CF" and possibly a pregnancy mod to top it all off. Some of the mods here seem very interesting. I do have experience in running sex mods from here. I have fully modded Oblivion and all the sex mods work great for me. I felt like I should ask and get the opinions of people who have beaten the game before. I'm not sure if this would ruin the Fallout experience for me or not. The mod descriptions say that they are "lore-friendly" but since I have never played it before I wouldn't know. How should I go about my first new vegas experience? Should I use Sexout or wait until I play NV again?
myuhinny Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 That is highly up to you but most will say that it is better if you first play and beat the game before trying to mod it too much or you may never get to finish the game as some mods have a tendency to break shit. So I would say do a play through first and beat the game then you can try adding some adult things and other mods. For your first play though adding a body replacer is fine as it will make the player look better.
BoondockSaint Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I'd recommend you my favorite sexout mod: 'Sexout Dynamic Relationship Layer' Because, It doesnt make the game sex/pr0n centered, Its an adult adition to the game. As the author says, to enjoy the mod you just play NV normally. Also, 'SO Fade to Black', to have SO sex scenes when vanilla sex scenes (fade to black) happen.
Swyke Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 If you've never player the game before, I would recomend to begin with the unmodded game (maybe some visual enhancement etc.) If you like the game and you want it more 'spicy' you could add sexout (please follow the tutorials and test the basic sexout engine, so it does what it should do before you keep on playing). For a first playthrough you can use - as already recomended - 'fade to black' which replaces the vanilla 'fade to black' sexscenes - yes! yet F:NV has sex included - with sexout animations. (sadly the two best scenes aren't replaced because of 1. missing animations for robots and 2. some problems with the script or so). You could add 'sexout consequences', too. This mod offers sexual solutions for some vanilla quests. This two mods do not change much in the original game, so I could recommend them for a first - slightly sexouted - playthrough. If you like more and you are playing with a female courier, you could take the 'sexout tryout' package, too. This mods add mostly prostitution opportunitys (sometimes dangerous) to some places in the game ... without breaking the original feeling of the game. Same thing to 'soliciting', if you want to have more of this. Over all, and if you want it, there are many mods which enhanche the sexout framework without breaking the original feeling. Of course 'pregnancy' for pregnancy. 'assault' for the danger of getting raped. 'wear and tear' for some more consequences to you sexual behaviour. 'another kick in the head' for death alternatives and some weired dreams and ... and ... and ... at all most sexout mods fit (to my opinion) very well into the 'fallout lore', there are very less mods who make the main story unplayable. And unlike Skyrim and it's huge amount of 'devious ...' mods, there are less mods who change the 'feeling' of the game completely. (But for the first playthough you should stay away from the realy briliant(!) 'breeder', because this mod is currently a little outdated and especialy the deathclaw part went close to a total conversion of the game.)
Cagerage Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I actually havent finished it, far from, and i started to mod it, but then again, i think that the modding process is kind of fun. And i don't think that sex mods "fuck" up the lore or anything, caus its just sex But if you decide to play the game without mods, i would still recommend you get some texture mods or something like that.
wheeeeeha Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I have a rule I follow. First playthrough is always unmodded, afterwards I mod to my hearts content. It allows me to enjoy the game as the designers intended, then I get to build my own little world. Just how I do things. New Vegas isn't that long, you should play through without mods first.
cornbreadtm Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I did. Tried playing unmodded after... That lasted about 5 minutes lol. Most games I own I just get to mod these days. No harm in getting the best experience out of the game your first time through.
Strec Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I agree with that, generally using mods can easily double the lifetime of a game and you can hope to get pleasure for at least 10 minutes, perhaps 15 minutes if you choose the best mods
d4nt320 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 All have something right but remember that the creators of games need respect and the same for the Modders. first play the game in vanilla mode then do what ever you want to do. :D
nekojack13 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I would suggest that you should play however you feel is most fun. I got into FO through the modding community for Skyrim, so I started installing mods right away. I prefer to immerse myself in the world and play however I feel, rather than worry about completing the game or not. I also agree with Cagerage that modding can be fun. It really is all up to you how to play. There is no wrong way to have fun.
tibuka Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Hi there. I'm in a similar situation: I played Fallout 3 and some FNV on my 360, but never finished the latter. Now I got it cheap for PC and want to try again with mods to add some "spice". Found this site by looking for a slaver mod, but I would be interested in any mod that doesn't break the main game. I plan to use a male PC for this play through. "Sexout Tryout" seems pretty much mandatory. "Fade To Black" Sounds great, but why are there also SexoutVanessa and SexoutWillow? Does FTB fully replace them? I would also like some BDSM elements. "Veronica D/s" looks definetly great. Other mods I found are Sexout for "Slavery simple", SlaveCollection, SexoutRapist and SexoutSlavers 1-3. However, I find it really hard to determine which, if any, of these are (relatively) stable and main-quest friendly. Or compatible with each other. When in doubt I would not install any of them, I just really like the idea of expanding on the whole slavery aspect that already exists in Fallout. Any advice?
ljacquard Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I would repeat the advice that other people have given here before. As much as I am fond of Sexout (and LAPF for Oblivion), it's wiser to get a good feel of how the game is supposed to work before attempting to mod it. You cannot spot trouble if you've never experienced a context (vanilla) largely devoid of it. Modders on LL take a great deal of care to make our games as bugfree/crash-free an experience as possible. Sexout really adds to my FNV game, I would no longer play without it. Still, conflicts and glitches happen FAST. A single corrupted texture, unproperly uncompressed from a mod, recently crashed my game : 01075745 ; NiDX9SourceTextureData::CreateSurf> Failed CreateImageSurface - D3DERR_INVALIDCALL Thankfully, I had <NVAC> to help me getting rid of this error. I wouldn't have been able to do so without some "experience" under my belt. Anyway, it's your game to play and enjoy as you want. If you hop into a modded game unprepared, expect to get faster into the maelstrom of chaos that it sometimes implies. Risk vs reward, that shouldn't sound too unfamiliar to players of RPGs I guess.
