Herrmannesque Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Recently got a new gaming rig with Windows 7 64 bit OS and running Norton Internet Security's 90 day trial. I normally don't use Norton but I thought I'd give it a try. My browser is Chrome. When I try to manually download a file, like an archive, Chrome immediately downloads the file but the archive is empty. I have no idea what is causing this... I've tried disabling Norton's features but that is not resolving the problem. Any suggestions?
mkprovince Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 What files are you downloading? Some links would be nice so that others can try for themselves and see if they got the same empty archives.
Herrmannesque Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 This is getting even stranger because the same problem is having on two different computers. One does not have Norton Internet Security. I've been trying to download some files from the Nexus and every manual download I try yields an empty archive. On both computers now. I just tried to download a 7zip file from LL and it worked just fine!
mkprovince Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Ah, Nexus! Should have said that up front. Some of the people commenting there seems to have problem downloading too. Probably the periodic hiccup season is back. Might want to wait a bit.
Herrmannesque Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 Can you point me to a link there where people are talking about this problem?
myuhinny Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2224309-cant-manually-download-as-of-half-of-today-25oct14/ Here is a link to one of the forum posts can't manually download as of half of today 25Oct14.
Bottlesoldier Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Followed the link but I have had no problems from Nexus downloads, it only concerns files from loverslab and its forums. It appears that they are being ended prematurely. tried on Opera, Mozzila and Chrome, went as far as downloading 2 'download managers', but they also can't continue these files after they stop.
DrTantra Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 For nexus its a simple fix. Just go to preferences, if you are a premium member and change where you download from. Ex. if in London go to Dallas then save the changes. One thing I did notice though was when I went back to my original download site. I still had the problem. As for this site? I have know idea? Try opening the down load files into a new page?
