CTD on Save Load, or RCTD within minutes, Is my Mod Organizer installation at fault?

I recently migrated to MO.  But now I am having problems.  I am usually pretty good with tracking down papyrus bugs, but this throws me for a loop.  I only crash on a save load after skyrim has generated its own files, I can load the save fine and play for a bit before CTD if and only if Skyrim has not been started up with that save previously and generated files/ changes somewhere, if I run all the mods without starting with skse I can also start up the game, yes 90% of them will throw errors and complain I know, but that helps narrow down the issue at least. If I start up the game again, without deleting everything I know of that skyrim generates on a start up, I will end up crashing immediately after the save loading screen finishes.  

 

To be clear, the game starts fine, it is after I attempt to start a new game or load a save that the crash occurs.  If someone can point out what I have done to cause this let me know.

 

EDIT: Crash on load is inconsistent but gameplay lasts less than five minutes before another CTD, which seems like a memory error.

my papyrus log too so if anyone notices a screw up let me know.  This is in reverse order + denotes installed, - can be ignored 

 

since it isn't even there, and * is active in the Skyrim folder and not managed by MO so it is actually always overwritten in case

Oh and if anyone knows a practical way to change installation order without having to do everything manually let me know.

 

I just realized that the MO folder access is denied to write to outside of MO itself, this may be an administration problem I overlooked.  Though MO is run as an Admin would this cause problems.  What I mean is that I attempted to edit the skyrim ini in the profile folder in MO and access to save was denied.

 

 

I still have fairly consistent CTD's during gameplay even if I do make it in game, this makes me think it is a memory issue.

 

Things I have noticed on my own:

 

Obviously SpellCrafting is complaining about a stack overflow, this is usually a major problem for code in most situations

 

 

One Problem Fixed:  When the game does load AmazingFollower Tweaks is fubared again, I have the followers ignore dismissal, follow command bug (last time I believe it was cause by PocketEmpire overwriting some of the dialog scripts. It was this again, I missed it in my load order.

 

Edit: Papyrus 2 was a CTD on Save Load again.

It is consistently crashing on save load again, which makes me think it is MO's fault, either not invalidating archives properly or not properly setting the load order or installation order.

My game started crashing on load recently too. I fixed it by removing Defeat.

 

I found Defeat was causing my crashes on save load.

 

I tested this be installing SL Framework, then one single SL plugin at a time (e.g. Defeat, Submit, Aroused, etc.). My saves loaded fine until I loaded with SL Framework and Defeat in my load order.

 

I got the same results with Nexus Mod Manager and Mod Organizer. So I don't believe MO is to blame. Example:

Install Framework + Submit = Loads OK

Install Framework + Aroused = Loads OK

Install Framework + Aroused + Lovers Comfort  = Loads OK

Install Framework + Defeat = Crash on load

 

This could be unique to me and my load order, or due to a recent change in Defeat's update (Defeat was working for me until recently), but i have had a total 3 crashes in 10 hours game time since.

It might, thank you, I found that defeat was giving me issues as well, but I figured that there might still be some compatibility issues between it and SD+, they seem to be cooperating now that I have altered some of the settings through MCM.  

 

The other thing I have noticed is massive save bloat, my save is currently 25 MB, if anyone has suggestions for cutting that down safely that would be great.

post your papyrus and load order, both getting ctd's doesn't mean same solution unless its the same mods causing the problem

Oh and if anyone knows a practical way to change installation order without having to do everything manually let me know.

 

I just realized that the MO folder access is denied to write to outside of MO itself, this may be an administration problem I overlooked.  Though MO is run as an Admin would this cause problems.  What I mean is that I attempted to edit the skyrim ini in the profile folder in MO and access to save was denied.

 

 

I still have fairly consistent CTD's during gameplay even if I do make it in game, this makes me think it is a memory issue.

 

Things I have noticed on my own:

 

Obviously SpellCrafting is complaining about a stack overflow, this is usually a major problem for code in most situations

 

 

One Problem Fixed:  When the game does load AmazingFollower Tweaks is fubared again, I have the followers ignore dismissal, follow command bug (last time I believe it was cause by PocketEmpire overwriting some of the dialog scripts. It was this again, I missed it in my load order.

 

Edit: Papyrus 2 was a CTD on Save Load again.

 

 

judging by your papyrus your issues come before it even reaches any issues with defeat, if at all

i'd recommend 1st removing mo, replace it with LOOT http://loot.github.io/

that'll rule out any issues with load order affecting new saves

next tweak traps is affecting your papyrus from the devious traps mod still in its beta stages: either take that out of the load order or wait til it gets the issues resolved before usig it

next is morenastycritters: check for an update on that and/or check for any missing pre-requisite mods for it

next is an issue with questmarkers, i'm guessing that's barenziah - follow same rules as above

estrus mod has weird issues in there, remove that as well: recommend removing that from load order, if its something you prefer, can try re-installing it after things are fixed, but expect isues with it in papyrus- too many papyrus bugs are causing the ctd's here...

 

after that you're getting bugs that shoulldn't be there, possibly spawning from the previous bugs, you'll need to fix the above mods and post a new papyrus: try from a cleansave this time with a note on how far along does the gameplay run from a cleansave: does it create character then crash or not even to character screen, does it allow you to choose your new life from the alt start area then crash, or click the bed and crash, or does it spawn the new area....

then if that fails to resolve it can post along with it your updated papyrus for attempting to run from the loaded save and attempt to detect any patterns for when it crashes on the loaded save

My game started crashing on load recently too. I fixed it by removing Defeat.

 

I found Defeat was causing my crashes on save load.

 

I tested this be installing SL Framework, then one single SL plugin at a time (e.g. Defeat, Submit, Aroused, etc.). My saves loaded fine until I loaded with SL Framework and Defeat in my load order.

 

I got the same results with Nexus Mod Manager and Mod Organizer. So I don't believe MO is to blame. Example:

Install Framework + Submit = Loads OK

Install Framework + Aroused = Loads OK

Install Framework + Aroused + Lovers Comfort  = Loads OK

Install Framework + Defeat = Crash on load

 

This could be unique to me and my load order, or due to a recent change in Defeat's update (Defeat was working for me until recently), but i have had a total 3 crashes in 10 hours game time since.

you need to check for updated requirements in the defeat thread (or go without is fine if you're already using submit, that's what i use), many Still use defeat And use it with sd+, its just hard to configure them to work together And if you're already using submit with sd+, you don't need defeat

 Alright, I am in the process of using your suggestions, Tweak Traps is part of Amazing Follower Tweaks, which is still having some issues, mainly messing with Devious devices somehow.

 

If a Defeat rape is triggered on one of my followers and devices are placed on them by an npc, the textures do not load and I can only remove them temporarily through the companion dialog option "Let me Help You!" (As soon as a cell transition takes place the textureless device is reapplied).

 

Followers also have issues with outfit management after being attacked via defeat options, they refuse to re-equip clothing.

if DD is having issues with followers, you need to determine if its only an issue with items from defeat or can you take the items off and equip them onto the follower yourself: if the issue is a device being re-applied after you used dialog options to remove it, that's a skyrim follower bug that's best solved by viewing their inventory and removing it

i use aft as well, just didn't know tweaktraps was part of that mod and i only recently started getting tweaktraps in my papyrus so i thought it was the result of another mod: Devious traps....

Mo has loot built into it, but others using mo have reported issues with their skyrim as well (sounds like a possible issue stemming from removing the files from the data folder)

if those are the only 2 issues, post the updated papyrus and maybe we can find what else is wrong (unless you've cleared up the crashin and run smooth now)

still having issues with map markers, but i don't see the mod used for that in the list, maybe need to check for loose scripts from that mod that look like this: _MapMarkerPickupScript (in your data\scripts folder, if they exist loosely, if not it might need a clean save)

also morenasty critters, try uninstall it for now til we find the bigger issues(maybe able to reinstall this later if you like it, its a small bug)

next issue here is with weapon racks and this 1 is a big issue with lots errors, i'm guessing that's an issue with immersive weapons, you'll need to remove or re-install

after that its getting to more stuff i'm unable to identify, so try fixing those first and update us on the changes, post the new log if still issues

still having issues with map markers, but i don't see the mod used for that in the list, maybe need to check for loose scripts from that mod that look like this: _MapMarkerPickupScript (in your data\scripts folder, if they exist loosely, if not it might need a clean save)

also morenasty critters, try uninstall it for now til we find the bigger issues(maybe able to reinstall this later if you like it, its a small bug)

next issue here is with weapon racks and this 1 is a big issue with lots errors, i'm guessing that's an issue with immersive weapons, you'll need to remove or re-install

after that its getting to more stuff i'm unable to identify, so try fixing those first and update us on the changes, post the new log if still issues

 

  Alright, now I am getting stereotypical WordWall memory errors, here is the new load order and papyrus log, there are a few debugging mods in there now as well, I am getting T-poses on certain creatures, namely spriggans and draugr.  Also I had to compress the log, it's ah, big now.

SD+ is a standalone version with a packaged .bsa file. You do not need SD1 installed for this to work.

 

Upgrading from previous versions of SD+ should be possible. Before upgrading it's wisest to make sure you have a save where the PC isn't enslaved, in the Dreamworld, or in the midst of the Flowering Spriggan quest. If you have SD+ 1.16 or earlier installed, make sure you install Death Alternative - Your Money or Your Life before installing SD+ 2.0.

some of those will leave junk behind in papyrus if you don't clean up the loose scripts left behind by them: now that you've trashed some mods you need to go back in and clean up your scripts folder for those, if you have the original zip files it'll help to compare and track down the scripts to be removed, where ever it is that mo keeps the scripts will need to be checked for that and since it appears you don't have estrus charus, you'll need to clear up the animations and other folders for zzestrus type files as well: once those are all cleaned up you'll need to run fnis and re-register sexlab animations (reisnstall it from the mcm and re-register zaz)

Edit: if that doesn't fix it, the next mod with alot of issues in there is Tame Beast

next issue after that is the Convenient Horse Herding: this 1 has compatibi8lty issues with a number of your mods including sd and the final issue in the log before crash is this mod again
